The Jewish Federation’s Los Angeles Jewish Teen Initiative (LAJTI) presents an opportunity for Jewish teens to learn how to make a difference in their peers’ lives. In partnership with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA), we are proud to present the LAJTI Teen Talk Training Program. Jewish teens are invited to apply for our first-ever Teen Talk cohort to learn how to provide social and emotional support to their peers through the anonymous Teen Talk phone app. This program empowers teens to support each other through the unique challenges they face, especially during the isolating days of a pandemic. We are currently accepting applications from Jewish Los Angeles teens (grades 9-11). All applications must be submitted by 1:00 PM on Friday, January 11th. https://bit.ly/2UmZ63n

We know that life has been stressful on so many levels and LAJTI is excited to offer an opportunity for parents of teens to re-center, regain perspective, and come together with other parents in the Los Angeles Jewish community for a Spa for the Soul! In partnership with Ayeka, parents are invited to participate in Becoming a Soulful Parent: The Teens Years, meeting on 3 consecutive Wednesdays in January. Grounded in Jewish wisdom and texts, using reflective questions, journaling, and large and small group conversations, this interactive, cameras-on program will create a space to think about who we are as parents and who we want to become. See the flyer below for more information & email [email protected] to register.

The result? These outstanding students are empowered to lead their own future and that of our community. Applications are due by Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, so please share this information with interested candidates so they can act quickly! For more information, email [email protected]. We can’t wait to welcome and nurture our next generation of leaders and thank them for helping us ensure our Jewish future!

It's that time again - LAJTI's monthly meditation for parents of teens. We will explore the Chanukah-related themes of courage and resilience. As parents, how do we help our children develop resilience in response to disappointment and failure? For ourselves, how do we muster courage and optimism in the face of our own life challenges? Join us December 10 at 8am https://jewishla-org.zoom.us//tJwpce-vrzgrE9Mi8wXLcDaWpigx
