In light of recent public discourse on the re-opening of communities of faith, the Mountain View Buddhist Temple would like to inform everyone that we will cont...inue to remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic until further notice. We had previously stated that MVBT would be closed at least through September 6, 2020. This closure date is subject to change as new guidance and recommendations are given based on the latest information available. Decisions on re-opening will be made by the Temple’s Board of Directors which includes our resident Minister. These decisions will be made primarily with consideration for the health safety of our members, our visitors, our ministerial staff, our lay staff and volunteers, and our surrounding communities. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time which reminds us of the impermanence of all things. As new discoveries are made regarding the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and how to treat COVID-19, guidance and recommendations will change. While we continue to maintain physical distance, we encourage all to maintain connected through phone calls, on-line conferencing, and various social media offerings from the Temple. Please remember we are able to maintain connection with the Three Treasures: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, even during these times of physical separation.

#repost @nikkeiresisters Today would have been Breonna’s 27th birthday. We honor her life by seeking justice and always, always, #SayHerName... Go to bit.ly/BirthdayforBreonna for actions you can take today. #repost @battymamzelle Yesterday, after three full days of work on #BirthdayForBreonna, I finally found some time to sit and write my birthday card for her. My family got involved and even my little cousin signed her name to her dad's card. This effort has ballooned into something I could never have imagined or hoped for. The work I put in and the work you all put in with me has been incredible to behold. So many of you sent beautiful cards and letters and postcards and you donated and you signed and you made this story big enough that I spent most of yesterday giving interviews. Seeing this project go so, immensely viral had given me a new hope that perhaps we can value black women, even though we shouldn't need so much prompting. I hope that with all the time and effort and money that so many hundreds of you put in, we can finally get #JusticeForBreonna. Happy birthday Breonna. You should have been here to celebrate #SayHerName : @aylasydney and @_afrodiziak [Image description: a drawing of Breonna Taylor with a variety of pink flowers around the borders by @arielsinhana. Across her chest the words Say Her Name with Breonna Taylorunderneath. Below the drawing of Breonna, pink text says #BirthdayforBreonna, A campaign recognizing June 5, 2020 as a day of action to bring justice for Breonna Taylor who was murdered by police in Louisville, KY.]

Let's play Dharma Message Bingo! Many temples offer live-streams and recorded dharma talks, so here's your chance to listen even more deeply as you look for the key words. Play on your own or get a group together. If you score a bingo, let us know which message was a winner! Thanks to Cal YABA for the concept. https://www.buddhistchurchesofamerica.org/live-streaming-a/
