Good Morning loves! Today marks a very special day for us at Tease as we are certified for reopening after 76 days closed. It brings tears to my eyes knowing we have made it through one of the most incredibly challenging economic times, especially as a new business. Selena and I are so blessed to have such a fantastic group of ladies at our salon supporting us. ... Thank you to the clients who chose to prepay I will make sure you are seen and taken care of and for those who continued to rebook each month with hopes of reopening we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We will begin booking appointments today. Please note we have guidelines set in order to keep everyone safe and stay open. You must: Wear a mask. Come alone (1 client per stylist). Wait to be told to come in to avoid crowding. Sanitize or wash your hands when you enter our salon. Reschedule if you are sick or have a fever or have been exposed to anyone with symptoms. I always knew I wanted to be a Cosmetologist but, I didn’t have the financial backing the Cosmetology Schools required, so in 2010 in order to continue my educa...tion after High School I Enrolled at College of the Redwoods as a business student to figure out what I was going to do with my life I decided to enter a career counseling class. In this class we took an in-depth test on the things we were interested in as well as the things we were good at. All signs pointed to Cosmetology School. I remember being extremely heartbroken because I knew I couldn’t afford school. After two semesters in college I moved to Santa Rosa where I began searching for a cosmetology school. It was then that I entered Santa Rosa JC Cosmetology Apprentice Program. This program gave me the schooling that I needed to pass my exam but I needed to find a salon that would take me, I was fortunate enough to become an Apprentice at Passions For Hair in Santa Rosa CA. After two years I took my Stateboard Cosmetology Exam. What a lot of people don’t know it’s during my test I was next to a girl who was a left hand stylist, Her cart the entire time was where my cart needed to be in order to do my test services with my right hand (cut, perm, style etc). Once you enter the room you cannot ask any questions or say anything. I did my entire Stateboard Cosmetology Exam with my left hand. I PASSED A few years after moving home and working as a cosmetologist in Fort Bragg, CA my close friend and fellow stylist, Selena Barnett and I decided to open a small hair studio together. It was the best thing I’ve ever done. We now have 3 chairs , 3 more Cosmetologists, Stacy, Kellie, Miranda and the perfect balance between family-friendly and high-end. Tease has been a sanctuary of love, laughter, hugs and tears. We have joined our clients in wedding ceremonies, we have shared funny stories, we have hugged during divorces, We have cried together with the passing of loved ones. TEASE -Hair Studio is not just a Salon. To me it’s a dream come true. One, that everyday I feel incredibly grateful to have lived for. I don’t know when our salon will be open, but I know that it will be a new season, a new world and a new beginning. I’m emotional thinking back to the 17th of March not knowing that would be my last day behind the chair, doing what I love for what looks like a much longer time then expected. We will open though and we miss your smiling faces and your trusting hearts. See you soon. -Liv
