We continue our cultural principles series with: Everyone has a role. Know it. A vital principle that has helped transform Team Rubicon from a group of do good generalists to do great specialists. #BuiltToServe

Furloughed by the coronavirus, a hospitality worker spends his time as a disaster relief volunteer and finds a new meaning of service. Powerful new reflection up from Greyshirt Carlos Sinde, check it out!

"What does Team Rubicon mean to me? It’s home. It’s gritty. It’s humbling. It’s meaningful. It’s a chance to give to people when they need it most, as people have given to me. It’s an opportunity to connect with veterans and volunteers from all over the country, who simply want to serve a mission bigger than themselves: To provide disaster response to people on their worst day, all while helping give veterans a new sense of purpose." - Lisa Norwood Love these stories. A Texan reflects on finding purpose in service to disaster survivorsand a place in the TRibe.
"Extremely hardworking. Gave every ounce they had and did the work with joy. Thank you so very, very much." - Louisiana resident Ms. Judy shares her heartfelt thank you to the Greyshirts who served her following Hurricane Laura + Delta. This is why we do what we do #BuiltToServe
Earlier this week, we wrapped up the Orange, TX. side of Operation Crying Eagle. A Texas-sized thank you to every Greyshirt and supporter who gave us the opportunity to serve those affected by Hurricane Laura + Delta. Thank you for welcoming us in to your community with open arms. Once again, The Lone Star State stole a piece of our heart. #BuiltToServe
Through continued service, Team Rubicon seeks to provide our veterans with community, identity and purpose. Learn more: https://teamrubiconusa.org/service/
We are up to over 1,000 individuals assisted in our response to Hurricane Laura + Delta, but each person we serve is just that, an individual. A single person we put our full effort toward making today a little better than yesterday. And when we see that at the end of a hard day’s work, we know we’ve done our job. #BuiltToServe

"In 2010 we set out with a big dream: to transform disaster response. We threw out the playbook and recruited a generation of people who’d served in some of the world’s most complex environments. Today, during a year of compounding crises, communities are turning to veterans to lead them through. That’s something we can all be proud of." - TR CEO and Co-Founder Jake Wood. Hurricane #Zeta made landfall yesterday as the record-setting fifth tropical storm and third hurricane to hit Louisiana in 2020. Take an inside look at how Team Rubicon tracked this storm and how we are preparing to respond.
Eight years ago, Superstorm Sandy caused heartbreaking destruction, proving to all the resilience of the Northeast. But for an unknown group of mainly veterans, it proved we had a home in disaster response. 350 Team Rubicon volunteers deployed to The Rockaways on our 32nd response ever, compared to 354 volunteers that had deployed on our first 31 responses in total. We’ve come a long way, but we never forget those first communities who welcomed our service and gave our mission a home. Thank you.
In honor of National #FirstRespondersDay, let's look back at the incredible work that Team Rubicon volunteers undertook working with the Navajo Nation in their fight against COVID-19. Support our mission: https://teamrubiconusa.org/give/
Join us in celebrating National #FirstRespondersDay by thanking all first responders in our ranks. You risk your lives on the front lines of your communities and join us to serve in others. Thank you, your commitment to service above self never goes unnoticed.
Service isn't just something we do. It's what we're built for. Head to http://TeamRubiconUSA.org/volunteer to earn your shirt.
Fixing a roof is never JUST fixing a roof. The connections you make in the field are what will stick with you long after you're back home. You never know who you’ll serve on an operation with TR and the life changing impact they will impart on you. Greyshirt Jamie Janovec recently shared a reflection from her deployment to Lake Charles, Louisiana in relief of Hurricane #Laura.
