Hey All. Here's hoping you are getting out and doing some solo rides and/or riding with your close "bubble" friends during this continued pandemic. The club board has been polling local experts on when it is a good time to open back up for group rides. One of our sources that we rely on for information is our Insurance company who covers all the riders on our official group rides. They sent us an interesting check-list that we thought would be useful for everyone. I have attached it here your consideration. Hopefully this will be a useful reminder when deciding on when to ride, with whom to ride, and general riding protocols. Thanks!.

As we still need to keep organized rides suspended during COVID, the expiration dates for all Team Alameda memberships have been extended by a year without fee (usually $35/year). Now if you're asking "Why would I pay for membership when cycling is free?!?" - your fees pay for things like insurance (largest part of the fees), annual club picnic, membership management software, and more things to keep this club running. Let's all hope that we can resume regular organized rides soon, and stay healthy!

While we're all waiting out the triple-whammy of pandemic, heat wave, and smoke - here's a wonderful funny 7-minute movie which plays out during a bike ride in what looks like California: "The Climb" https://vimeo.com/282586471

Hey TA crew. Did you know that our local spin company, Pedal Cycling, is holding outdoor classes during the Covid-19 Shelter in Place? If you are looking for a wonderful, challenging workout that will have direct benefits to your outside cycling performance, Pedal Cycling is ready to help. Their logo may not be on our jerseys yet, but they donated generously to our raffle at last summer’s picnic. Many of our team members have been attending the Pedal Cycling classes to great effect, and we even had one of our members teach classes there before she had to move to Nevada last month. They are holding early morning and early evening classes right now in an outdoor facility. Check out the Classes page (https://www.pedalcyclingalameda.com/classes) on their website for more information. Here’s to happy pedaling.

Please also save the date for our Virtual Open House on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:00 6:30pm" Thanks!
