In case you missed it . . . Regional developed recreation site closures and South Shore Recreation Corridor closure orders have expired. Visitors should keep in mind that not all sites will open right away and restrooms and trash service are not available until our seasonal staff are onboard, so please plan accordingly and be prepared to pack out all trash. ... Recreating responsibly will help ensure that access to recreational facilities, services, and opportunities continue.

As a reminder, all National Forest developed recreation sites in the Tahoe Basin are closed through May 15, including the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. View the closure orders at https://go.usa.gov/xv7Sn. Desolation Wilderness, Meiss Country and other backcountry areas are open. Remember, no campfires/charcoal bbqs are allowed in these areas. Gas stoves are allowed with a valid California Campfire Permit obtainable at https://www.readyforwildfire.org/permits/campfire-permit/.
