We, the Indian diaspora, as well as, the native Indians, request the Government of India, to honor Sree P.V. Narasimha Rao with the award Bharat Ratna in recognition of his far-reaching in economic reforms at a time when Indian economy was in a very bad state. He was a scholar, statesman, reformist and also served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is well-known for his linguistic prowess as he spoke 17 languages. He was considered the architect of liberalization, gl...obalization and privatization policies which helped INDIA prepare for the 21st Century challenges. TASC (Telugu Association of Southern California) is happy to be involved in the campaign for raising awareness about his role as the architect of a vibrant India. TASC is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, and it is ardently wished that Sree P.V. Narasimha Rao should be honored with Bharat Ratna, belated all the same. Better late than never. It is time for the Government of India to pay homage to Sree P.V. Narasimha Rao by giving him the pride of place in the hall of fame posthumously though. .. , , .. , , . , ... .. , .. Kuchipudi dance exponent Padma Shri Shobha Naidu passed away on Wednesday in Hyderabad. She was a disciple of Kuchipudi maestro Vempati Chinna Satyam garu and she had started giving stage performances at a very young age. She mastered the dance drama Bhama Kalapam, wherein she used to play the role of Satyabhama, wife of Lord Krishna. She also choreographed several dance dramas. She also served as the principal of the 40-year-old Kuchipudi Art Academy located in Hyderabad and trained more than 1,500 students from India and abroad. It is a huge loss to the Telugu cultural arts fraternity and TASC expresses condolences to the bereaved family members. Om Shanthi

TASC and Project Power Of The Voice Jointly Present Free Public Speaking Lessons For Kids. The importance of public speaking is often overlooked in career building. Public speaking is an essential and sought after skill for kids. If that skill is acquired at a young age, that will immensely help shape one's career. It’s never too early to learn how to speak effectively and with confidence. The sooner you teach children about public speaking, the better, and the easier their l...earn-to-public speaking journey will be. It also helps to progress the children in improved communication skills, increase self-esteem and the power of persuasion to name a few. TASC is very excited to partner with Project Power Of the Voice to offer free Public Speaking Classes for students aged between 8 and 13 years. The Class sizes are limited and are free-of-charge for our TASC members. This is a great opportunity for students to register and learn skills to build confidence, communication, impromptu speaking and much more. This is an introductory 7-week, 1.5 hours per week public speaking class for students aged 8-13.
