Happy 100th Day of School! It's Thursday, so that must mean our 4th graders are playing pickleball! TVT 4th graders, led by Lucas M. and Ava S., recently decided to take their interest in Pickleball to the next level by developing a small Pickleball tournament at lunch. This group of 4th graders has developed their own tournament layout, and they come out to the courts every Thursday to participate in friendly competition.

It’s Signing Day! Congratulations to TVT Seniors Fiona B. and Jacob T. In the Fall, Fiona will be rowing at USC and Jacob will be pitching for the SFSU baseball team Mazel Tov from your TVT family!... #GOLIONS

What an exciting week we have had at TVT. With families busy enrolling, we want to share the news that our fearless leader, Jeffrey Davis, will be retiring after the 2021-22 school year. Current Middle & Upper School Principal Jill Quigley will be taking over as TVT's Head of School in July 2022. As many of you know, Jill has served as the Principal of Middle and Upper School since 2014. We are incredibly fortunate and excited to be going from one great leader in Head of ...School Jeff Davis to another in Jill. Mazel tov Jeff and Jill!

We did it again! TVT was just named the #1 Jewish School in America, and #1 Private K-12 School in Orange County by Niche.

Lower School Art Challenge! With face masks now the norm in everyday life, TVT's amazing art teacher, Ms. Wyles, thought this would be a light-hearted way to have fun with it. K-5 graders created the most amazing, wacky, and creative face masks. Students were provided paper face mask templates, but encouraged to think outside the box and use any material they wanted. Some students even sewed their own face masks!

Today is DRESS UP DAY! Wait. It's not Purim, is it? What is TVT doing dressing up so early in the year? Simple! It's all about Ushpizim. There's a great tradition during the holiday of sukkot to invite guests into the sukkahs that we build. These guests are known as Ushpizim. Traditionally, we invite a different Biblical hero into the sukkah each night. As a spin-off of this tradition, we're asked students and staff to dress up as a person whom they'd like to invite into the sukkah if they could invite anyone from the present or the past. From Einstein to Justin Bieber, the possibilities are endless.

"In 2020, going back to school has taken on a new meaning for a majority of students. But the halls of TVT Community Day School will soon be filled at a social distance with students." We're excited to announce that we have been approved by Orange County and the State of California for grades TK-6 to learn on-campus at TVT, starting Wednesday, August 26. Our plan for operating during the Covid-19 pandemic, "All Lions, All Day", is being fully operationalized. A huge thank you to the TVT team that has been working hard to ensure all the protocols for screening, hygiene, masks, and social distancing are in place.

During distance learning last spring, TVT teacher Mr. Segal decided to write a new welcome song for his classes each day. As he puts it, "I had not initially realized how much of a commitment I was getting myself into... I realize this video is quite long, but so was last semester." Mr. Segal, you are one of a kind! Thank you for all that you do for the students of TVT.... #GOLIONS

Have you been wondering what TVT's "All Lions, All Day" Plan looks like in action? Today was the last day of our Summer@TVT program, with nearly 300 students joining us over the last 6 weeks. Following TVT's 4 pillars--screening, social distancing, masks/face coverings, and health & hygiene--we had a fun and SAFE summer to remember! #GoLions
