Hey Everyone check this out! I had a fun time this morning on ABC10 for this live interview live interviews are always a little bit scary, but this one was very well done by the ABC team - thank you so much for having me on the show! [P.s. that’s my student Asa during his lesson - he did a great job too, thank you Asa! ] And a massive thanks to Don Gier @constantsigns for making the video footage you’ll see here, on very short notice! https://youtu.be/YlGeuFI6c04

I am so deeply honored - there are no words for what it feels like to watch a great pianist playing my composition! This was just released today, please check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8jDRz6fkq4&feature=youtu.be
Today I found these photos by accident - I’d never seen them before. They are from an interview with CBS about an upcoming concerto performance. The television spot aired a couple of years ago and was taped at the music school I founded, @sacramentopianoconservatory. . . . Finding these pictures is bittersweet - sweet for the fond memories of that performance and the rehearsals leading up to it, the fun I had learning the concerto, collaborating with the conductor and the... orchestra, and 2 packed houses both nights, and my then long hair . Bitter because right now my school is shuttered again by the current politics, there are no orchestras anymore, no rehearsals, no performances coming up, so much fear permeating the human consciousness, and my then long hair . . . . I affirm faith for all. I affirm health for all. I affirm well-being for all. I affirm no-fear. I affirm love. See more

I am most honored today! My piano composition Geary Street is the winner of esteemed International Composition Competition for Contemporary Piano, An Art Artistry 2020. My piece was one of only 3 chosen from submission by 37 composers from 20 countries! Wow! Geary Street will be recorded and distributed by An Art Artistry distinguished pianists. Here is a link to the site: https://an-art.com/en/portfolio/taveg/ It is very sweet to see your baby have it’s own little lif...e, to see it venture out and win prizes and be performed by great artists, and be shared and enjoyed by others. I remember when Geary Street was just my own little piano piece, I was the only one who played her and knew her face and her soul. I remember when she was born, just she and I were there that day, alone at my piano. Now just look at her! She turned out to be a bad ass!!! See more

Thank you VideoMelody for this special clip! Here I am playing the music of Justin Levitt - two beautiful pieces: Scattered and Peace at Night. I love playing music composed by people I know, friends who are also composers. A unique connection to the piano occurs when I know the person who composed the music. I know that they have a busy life, a family, concerns, joys, ups, and downs. It just makes it so real. Music ultimately comes from our feelings and our real, on-the-ground lives. It is such an honor and privilege to be a pianist. Thank you for listening.
Waiting for a Call by Tanya Vegvary. . Here’s a clip from Saturdays Piano Day Livestream Concert. I composed this piece one day last year when I had been sick and lonely and craving companionship and expression. Maybe that’s kind of like a lot of people are feeling today. I sure am even more grateful for the friends and family and co-workers in my life. ... . This is my tiny piano collection. It had been shoved to back of my desk at work for many years and I’ve been meaning to make a special place for it. Finally, it is home on display! Each one has a special story or was given to me by someone with love. My favorites are the ones with a dual purpose - one is actually a lighter, and one was an Avon lip balm case (on the upper inside of the lid). . Do you have a collection? What do you love to collect? ... . #piano #collections #tinypianos #music #gifts #pianistofinstagram #travelingpianist
