Lake Tahoe Music Festival 17.02.2021

Update for 2021 The Board of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival hope 2021 is a year of health and happiness for all our friends. As the difficult year of 2020 fades behind us, we continue to hold our Academy orchestra and informal, outdoor classical music performances close to our hearts. Although we brought our 40+ years of music festival performances to a close this year, we remain hopeful that new possibilities or new partnerships can develop that continue the spirit of the world’s best music played outside in the beauty of nature. We send a warm thank you to all our supporters over the years who joined us on the beach and in the gardens and woods of Lake Tahoe to hear transformational music. We hope to be able to gather again under the setting sun and continue to make memories together.

This looks amazing - a statement of how we can work together through music. If you stream this at Tahoe Art Haus & Cinema, you are also helping a Tahoe City local business!

May 13, 2020 The Lake Tahoe Music Festival concerts scheduled for August have been cancelled. Regretfully, the Board could find no way to host our farewell concerts this summer: the obstacles presented by COVID-19 are simply too much to overcome. We had planned two concerts in August as a way to say "goodbye" and to celebrate the more than 40 years of the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. We still hold on to the possibility that a final thank you to our community in the form of a co...ncert could be held sometime in 2021. Stay well and hope to see you next year. Sincerely, Bonnie Dyer President, Lake Tahoe Music Festival

Don't know how to attribute the great photo that is the basis of our spring cover. But thank you Doug Greenwood for once again taking a beauty. You have a wonderful eye for the magic in what you see and some fantastic skills in getting the right shot. Kudos!!

All of us at the Lake Tahoe Music Festival are staying home as winter gives way to spring and we count the blessings of family, friends, and music. Like the rest of the country, we are carefully following the guidance of health experts in our planning for our final concert performances. As of this writing, we are hopeful that by early August we can host two small outdoor performances. We will bring a woodwind quintet from One Found Sound, an acclaimed San Francisco-based grou...p of young professional musicians, for two concerts: Tuesday, August 11 - West Shore Cafe Wednesday, August 12 - Squaw Valley Chapel We will be watching the evolving restrictions on gathering throughout the rest of April and May. If allowed, we intend to offer tickets for sale beginning June 1. Watch for an announcement in our newsletter, on our website, or here on our facebook page. When we can finally emerge from shelter, we think the bonds of community created by sharing beautiful music outside in nature will be the salve to the spirit that we all need. We hope you will join us.
