Our theme this year "Faailo e Manu Taumafa o le Gataifale" points to a skill set one must have, to understand how the world works. When fishermen go out in their canoes to fish, they don't look to the water for fish, but they look to the sky for birds. Where the birds flock, that's where the fish are. The skill-set is determining what's possible from what's so. Paying attention to what's so, one can infer what's possible. Understanding the ecosystem and the role birds play in them gives fishermen insights into where abundance is located.
