To end the week, I thought I would give you some facts about Mobile Sites and why they are useful. SEO and optimization of your site is always useful today and improving how you do both is key to your business success. Have a great weekend and talk with you on Monday! The use of the internet through mobile devices has jumped enormously in the last few ...years. And as cell phones and data packages become more and more affordable, gaining a larger portion of the mobile market for your niche will become increasingly more important to gaining business online. Although last year the amount of visits to sites through mobile devices amounted to only about 10% of the total visits, what about the end of 2013 when it is projected that 20% of the total visits will come through mobile devices. Also, another quick point to think about, have you realized that the use of mobile internet increases every year in December? Be ready by November and introduce your new mobile site to be ready for the rush that usually comes at the end of the year. Then you will have your new mobile site ready for new traffic starting in January and gain those new visitors for all of 2014.

The goal of branding is you want to be known as the one that solved their problems. Be the best at something. But for your target market, what are the main issues you can solve? Every company that has set out to build a memorable brand has built something that could be sustained. Something that is trustworthy and predictable that people could count on. An iPhone case called Book Book is of high quality and looks like a small book. Red lobster chose to brand themselves as a seafood restaurant. They have steak, chicken, pasta and much more. But they chose to brand themselves as a seafood place. So, that is how their customers see them. When they think seafood, they think Red Lobster. They solved the issue of where can I go to get some good seafood. Find something that you want your customers to focus on for you and build your brand around that. Build something that people will need and band yourself around it. If you define yourself by a brand that is how others will see you as well. Create a solution to a problem and be known for solving that problem.

Here is a little fun fact I found about social media that I thought you may like to hear. Enjoy and remember to be thankful for every moment you have each day! Question: Can you put these social networks in order based on overall usage? Instagram... Tumblr Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Answer: Facebook ? Unsurprisingly, Facebook is the biggest social network there is. A whopping 67% of adults surveyed reported using Facebook. That usage is 47% higher than the next network on the list. Facebook appeals to consumers and businesses of all sizes. There?s not a person or organization in the world that can?t get some sort of benefit from Facebook , and for businesses, the opportunities to build real relationships with consumers are countless. LinkedIn ? At the number two spot ? with 20% usage among adults surveyed ? we find LinkedIn. This placement might be surprising to some, but when you think about it, business connections often overlap with social and friend connections. Additionally, LinkedIn is useful for building business and career contacts in just about any industry. It serves as an online resume for job seekers and a way to share knowledge among peers in a given field. While LinkedIn is certainly a niche network, that niche is larger than many realize. Twitter ? The main surprise here is probably that Twitter ? with 16% usage among adults ? didn?t beat out LinkedIn for the number two spot. There are likely a few reasons for this, but I suspect the growing number of businesspeople who are discovering the benefits of online professional networks plays a part. Pinterest ? That?s right! Pinterest, which has only been around since March of 2010, is a relative newcomer to the social networking scene, yet it is already used by 15% of adults. It may only be a matter of time before Pinterest eclipses Twitter. The lesson here for online marketers? Bite-sized, visual content absolutely must be part of your strategy. Instagram ? Another newcomer, Instagram launched in October of 2010 and made an immediate beeline for social media prevalence. Pew?s reported usage is 13%. What does this tell us? For one, we are in a mobile age, and Instagram is a mobile platform. Secondly, Instagram is the epitome of visual content sharing, and thirdly . . . people really love sharing photos of their cats, their meals, and themselves in front of mirrors. Tumblr ? Tumblr has been around since April of 2007, and can probably take at least partial credit for the move to more snackable content. What emotion do you want to build in your target market? Now that you know the market you are tar...geting, think about how you want your target audience to perceive you. How do you want people to feel about your brand when they see it. Some examples to think about: Coke use to use "drink happiness" whereas Apple's brand was to be perceived as "elitist" or "the most new thing". Decide how you want people to feel when they see your company. Do you invision it being cool and modern, or maybe cartoony, or do you want people to feel passionate and intense about your brand, or you could want it to be looked at as professional and elegant? The primary thing you must decide on is what emotion do you want people to connect with when they see your brand. I've found one great way to think about how you want to emotionally brand yourself is to connect it with the feelings of the problems you are going to solve. Do you want a business to feel safe, excited, taken care of, confident, privileged, or hopeful? There isn't just one way of going about this. You must decide what type of emotion you want people to feel when they see your brand.

If your target market is broad, then determine three or four personas to establish more targeted groups. No matter what, you still need a focus (even if it’s computer users who need a free cloud service). Decide what it is and build on that. Your target market is larger than you may think. The first thing you should do when you start thinking about your company, is branding. A brand is the most important ...aspect of a marketing plan. As marketers, you’d think we would all understand the value of a brand, yet sadly, that is not the case. A brand will make you a destination. Simultaneously, if you don’t have a strong brand then at best, you will be a coincidence. Here’s the difference, how many times have you gone out of your way to buy a cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop? That cafe has become a brand, it’s earned your trust and loyalty and now, you’ll go out of your way to purchase from that business. This is what you need to do for your company. There is truly no substitute for an authoritative brand and as you can imagine, one isn’t built overnight. There is a lot of planning and effort that goes into creating a brand. Now how do you begin to develop your brand? Determine your target market: Think about how old your target market is, whether your market is primarily male, or female, where do they live and what problems do they have that you can solve? During this phase of your planning you need to decide what kind of content you’ll be creating. For example, if you plan to target doctors and lawyers, you will need to present yourself as a professional, straight to the point company. As opposed to if you decide to target party shops, then you can be more creative and brainstorm more ideas for your content. This is the research, research, research phase. During the brand building phase, you need to read every case study and market research paper you can get your hands on to get an idea of how to answer those questions above. To be a brand you need to be sure you are creating the right content for your target market. Hi Everybody, I hope everybody's week is going well. It is time for reflection Wednesday. Reflect on what you have accomplished so far for the week and remember how much more you have to do. Something I do each week is write down everything I need to accomplish for the week. It allows me to look at what I need to do. And it allows me to see what I have done for the week. I check off what has been accomplished as I complete each task. So, when I reflect on my week, Wednesday and Friday, I can see how active I have been. It's the daily work that brings in the monthly profits. And each day is an opportunity to build on the previous day's work.
