Next stop, Santa Monica... When visiting, be sure to walk around the iconic promenade shopping district. Have a cocktail at @elephante and watch the sunset. Order one of the best cheeseburgers at @hihocheeseburger. Take a date atop of the Ferris Wheel at @pacpark or walk along Palisades park. Other local favorites are Italian at @fritto_misto_italiancafe and the @thebungalowsm at the Fairmont Hotel This seaside city is named after Saint Monica, the mother of Saint Augu...stine, but the reason why remains undetermined. One telling says it was named by explorer Gaspar de Portolà, who camped there in 1769 and named it in honor of the feast day of Saint Monica. Another credits Father Juan Crespi, who claimed a pair of creeks known as the Kuruvunga Springs (technically located outside of Santa Monica’s border), were like the tears of Saint Monica, who, prior to her son’s conversion, wept nightly over his impiety. Popularized on the big screen, Santa Monica represents Southern California living around the world and the reality does not disappoint. Oceanside activities, stunning panoramas, candy-hued building abound in this dreamy beach neighborhood. There are 62 listings available in Santa Monica Low: $1,655,000 Medium: $3,882,500 High: $18,500,000 Median price per square foot: $1,242 If there is anything I do for you, please reach out. The Academy Mesuem Located inside the old May Company building on Wilshire and Fairfax, April 2021 it is projected for the new museum to open. A future sight and sound...This will be the first museum of its kind dedicated to the art, science craft and history of film making. Outside of visiting Universal Studios, it is surprising that a museum of this caliber has not existed prior. The Academy museum will have both permanent and rotating exhibits for guests to enjo...y inside the 300,000 sqft facility. Exhibits will tell the story of film makers from old Hollywood as well as cover contemporary directors and stories. Viewers will be able to see iconic props on display such as the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz and Bruce, the prop shark used in Jaws. Attached to the building is the David Geffen Theater that will represent the relationship between art and technology. This new destination will really culminate that unique LA experience that tourists and locals alike seek out and expect. This new location could be a world class attraction that will hopefully be an instant hit. I'll see you at the movies! If there is anything I do for you, please reach out. The Beverly Hills Hotel Known around the world and ingrained into local Beverly Hills culture and lore, the Beverly Hills Hotel is a true staple of classic luxury. Built in 1912 By Margret Anderson, her motto for the hotel was Guests are entitled to the best of everything regardless of cost! The hotel was built before the city even existed. Today, there are 210 guest rooms and suites and 23 bungalows, each designed in the signature pink and green colors that are a trade...mark of the hotel. The service is impeccable and seeing the iconic designs of the Martinique banana leaf wallpaper can give you the chills. The Mediterranean Revival architecture contains a magic where the history and the lore of the hotel seem to come alive when walking around the halls. What is even more fun is catching a cocktail inside the famous Polo Lounge, named after the polo field's on which that part of the hotel was later built on top of in the 1930's. Who knows the people you will see walking around the hotel. What makes the hotel special is that it is a neighborhood local hangout. Many professionals drink and dine there including different celebrities. The hotel offers a luxury lifestyle you get to take part of each time you visit. It just feels real, not fake. You wish the walls could talk and tell stories of the history of what has taken place in the past. Visiting the hotel is a must and should be on your itinerary when showing friends around the Los Angeles. "Plenty of room at the Hotel California, any time of year, you can find it here" Fun fact, its the Beverly Hills Hotel that was the album cover to Hotel California.
