Congratulations to Swords fencer Alex Jeon for taking Silver in Cadet at the RJCC of the Rockies! Nice to see so many back and competing, good luck and good health to everyone!

Congratulations to Swords fencer Zoe Kim who took Bronze in Cadet at the RJCC in Colorado today! So nice to see our kids and all the others back to competing! Congrats to all the competitors! And thanks to the hosts for the very cool shades!

Swords Fencing Studio salutes our 2020 graduates. Normally we have a huge potluck party to celebrate and show a slide show of our grads throughout their time at Swords, but we were unable to this year for obvious reasons. We are pleased to be able to share the video with everyone online instead. Special thanks to Emily Beihold for her beautiful soundtrack!

Swords congratulates Ashley Liang and her family on her acceptance to Wellesley College! Ashley competed several times in the Junior Olympics as a Cadet and Junior. We wish her the best and hope she drops in to see us when she is back in town. Congratulations, Ashley!!

Swords congratulates Helen Myers who will be going to Penn State in the fall! Helen competed at the National level including Junior Olympics and medaled in numerous regional events including taking gold at the 1st Annual Precision Invitational in Juniors, and she is also a fantastic ref! We wish her all the best and hope she will drop and fence when she is in town!

Swords congrats Senior Daniel Shifron, who will be fencing for Penn State in the fall! Daniel has had a very successful fencing career, competing both nationally and internationally. Among his many achievements, he took Silver in Cadet at the 2019 Junior Olympics. Congratulations, Daniel!

Swords congratulates senior Juan Velo, who will be attending UCSD in the fall! Though Juan came to fencing late, picking up the epee in 2018, he quickly excelled- skipping E and D ratings entirely to earn his C! His fencing highlights include taking Gold at the 2018-19 Summer Nationals qualifier in Div 2, and Silver at the 2018-19 JO qualifier. With that kind of focus and determination, we expect great things from him at UCSD and hope to see him back in the studio fencing when he is in town. Congratulations, Juan!

Swords is proud to announce that Senior Nathan Wang is heading to UCSD in the fall! Among Nathan’s fencing achievements, he competed as a cadet at the World Cup in Bratislava, and took 8th in the November NAC Cadet event in 2018! We are excited for him and hope (expect ) to see him in the studio when he is in town. Way to go, Nathan!

Saluting our Seniors! Normally we would be celebrating our seniors at our annual pot luck and celebrating 4th of July together at Summer Nationals. The current situation has ended the gatherings, but not the pride we feel in our seniors and our club! With a special nod to Ryan Lee for putting the photos together, we are celebrating them via social media! Starting with Irene Yeu, and working our way backwards alphabetically (because we can!) we want to recognize Irene Yeu, who will be fencing for Stanford! Among the many highlights of her fencing career at Swords, Irene took Gold in Junior Women’s Epee at the January NAC, and took 5th at the Cadet World Cup in Bratislava in 2019! We hope to see you often at Swords when you are in town! Best of luck and congratulations!

We are proud of Swords fencer Stafford Moosekian, Coach Tigran, and all of the other fencers who are members of the 2020 Cadet and Junior teams. Congratulations to all! Here to hoping it takes place in September!

Well, in the midst of all the bad news out there, we have a Wangdoodle of an announcement! So proud of Nathan Wang who will be attending UCSD in the fall (). He joins fellow fencer Emily Beihold as a member of the Tritons! We think this is just wangderful! congratulations to Nathan, his family, Coach Tigran and all of the Swords community!

Classes are cancelled, but still some moments of fencing! Stafford Moosekian and Justin Yoo (being safe of course with masks and gloves and keeping distance) enjoy a rainy afternoon at Swords, with Luis Yount.

Huge congratulations to Jake Lo who took Silver in Y12 at the 1st Annual Vegas RYC and RJC! Good job Jake! And kudos to #battleborn for a great tournament! Hope it is the first of many! Safe travels home to Jake and family.
