Yes I’m in the office if you’re in need of acupuncture and/or cupping. . Yes I also offer telemedicine appointments if you want to focus on herbs, supplements, or the Fertility Awareness Method. . Yes I can mail you herbs if you need a refill.... . To control the spread of COVID-19 I’ve been getting tested weekly, sanitizing all treatment room surfaces between each patient, and wearing a mask as well as asking all my patients to wear them too (this photo is from last year, pre-pandemic and before I went back to being a redhead.) This is a custom herbal formula, pretty isn’t it? . A lot of the time I opt for standardized encapsulated formulas if I can, just because most my patients find it so much easier to take capsules. But with certain patterns a custom formula just works so much better. . This is a modification of Xiao Yao San, a classic formula for PMS and Liver Qi Stagnation with Blood Deficiency. It has herbs added in to address insomnia, anxiety, and low libido too.... . Do those sound like issues you could use support for? Herbs and acupuncture can help! . For my herbal nerds out there, the formula is: Chai Hu, Dang Gui, Bai Shao, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Sheng Jiang, Zhi Gan Cao, Mu Li, Long Gu, Suan Zao Ren, Yin Yang Huo, and Ru Cong Rong. See more

Wanna know a secret? I hate wearing a mask! But I do it every day because it’s a simple way to prevent the transmission of a possibly deadly virus that is currently exploding in Los Angeles. This isn’t about politics - it’s about public health. @ Sweet Beet Acupuncture

How does being black effect fertility and pregnancy in the US? . Black women suffer from fibroids at 2-3x the rate of white women. They are also more likely to develop them at a younger age and experience more complications from them. . There is a shortage of sperm donors who are people of color, significantly limiting black women’s options if they want a black donor.... . Black women have been shown to have lower IVF success rates (lower pregnancy rates and higher numbers of pregnancy loss mean live birth rate among black mothers is 14% lower than whites women who underwent the same procedures.) . The rate of pre-term labor is 49% higher for black mothers compared to other women in the US. . Maternal morbidity rate is 3-4 times higher for black women compared to white women. . Our systematically racist medical system is failing black mothers and their communities - we must do better. See more

Not all probiotics are created equal! Strains matter! Some probiotic strains are more specific for gut health and immunity, others can balance vaginal flora, while others effect mood. Potency matters! If your gut biome has been seriously effected by diet, stress, antibiotics or certain other medications, then you may need to start with a higher potency to repopulate the gut, before moving down to a lower potency maintenance dose.... Ingredients matter! Many probiotic supplements contain small amounts of dairy, if you are sensitive or allergic to any ingredients in your probiotic then it may do more harm than good. PREbiotics matter! This is the food that probiotics eat, some people get plenty of prebiotics thru their diet, but in some cases the probiotics need a little extra help. Shelf stability matters! Some probiotic products are self stable and some require refrigeration. While a product being shelf stable doesn’t necessarily effect its potency or quality, if it’s not shelf stable and you don’t store it properly it will quickly lose potency. Probiotics aren’t for everyone! Certain conditions, such as SIBO, can actually worsen from supplementing probiotics. See more

And we’re back! My clinic is officially re-opened (with precautions to keep myself and my patients safe). Here’s what you need to know: In California acupuncture is considered an essential service, but my clinic remained closed for several weeks to allow me to assess the situation in Los Angeles and to acquire necessarily PPE and cleaning supplies in order to re-open safely. Per the Los Angeles mandate, myself and my patients are required to wear masks during treatments.... I’ve developed several procedures to keep the clinic clean and limit interactions between clients - including spacing out appointments and disinfecting all surfaces between each patient. I’m still offering telemedicine appointments to existing patients and refilling herbs by mail for anyone who needs them. I’m happy to report I personally tested negative for covid, if you want a test they are available for free to anyone in Los Angeles. Any questions? Feel free to reach out. If you want book an appointment I recommend contacting me directly, you can still book thru my website but the date/time will be pending approval to assure appointments are adequately spaced out. Hi friends, checking in here to see how everyone is doing? . I’ve been #stayinghome and the clinic is closed, but I’m still available to my existing patients. . If you need a refill of your herbs or a quick follow-up via video chat, just reach out.... . If you don’t need me at the moment but want to support Sweet Beet Acupuncture, you can purchase a gift certificate or acupuncture package, or you can write me a testimonial - there’s a link in my profile for all of these options. . Thanks so much to everyone who has kept this one-woman business going for the past 4 years. I can’t wait to get back into the office and keep doing the work I love to do. See more
