Two Art Therapy class offerings are available this spring through SWC Continuing Ed! This noncredit, tuition-free class utilizes a variety of art media to promote self-expression, to develop coping skills, and to mediate emotional physical challenges and limitations. First Aid & CPR spring classes offered by Crown Cove Aquatic Center begin in January! Classes are offered in a blended learning format (both online and in-person), and are available in: Basic First Aid and Adult CPR (NC 40), CPR for the Healthcare Provider (NC 1007), and Pediatric Safety and CPR (NC 1022). Each class requires a nominal fee for the online lecture component and completion certificates. A new technology loaner program is available for SWC students who do not have access to technology at home and are in need of a loaner computer to participate in credit or noncredit courses for the fall 2020 semester. Industry safety is an ongoing awareness employees and supervisors must have at all times. Our tuition-free OSHA courses help prepare you by emphasizing safety awareness, health hazards, industrial risks and more. We are offering two tuition-free OSHA courses this fall, taking place remotely: OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Standards (NC 139-60) takes place September 1-10 (T/Th) from 6:30 - 8:55 p.m.... OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Standards (NC 140-50) takes place September 12-October 3 (Sat) from 8:00 a.m. - 3:25 p.m. Successful completion of either of the above courses gives eligible students an OSHA General Industry Standards card. In our NC 222 class (Conversation Skills and American Culture Through Songs, Movies, and Other Media), students develop listening, speaking, pronunciation, and vocabulary through discussion and analysis of films, songs, and other forms of media.
