Sutter Creek Police Department

ARREST MADE IN DANGEROUS LATE EVENING CALL! On December 26, 2020 at approximately 10pm, Sutter Creek Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Old Route 49 and Bryson Drive for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim who reported while he was attempting to leave a residence, his girlfriend chased him outside with a handgun and fired several shots in his direction, striking his vehicle several times. Fortunately the victim was uninjured.... Officers learned the female suspect ran across the street into a field. Officers were able to communicate with the suspect and convince her to surrender peacefully. The Sutter Creek resident was placed under arrest and booked into the Amador County Jail without further incident. A search warrant was obtained and served at the residence, which resulted in the suspected weapon being recovered. All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. SCPD was assisted by members of the Amador County Sheriff's Department and the Jackson Police Department. We are blessed to have such great partners.

THE PEOPLE OF SUTTER CREEK CAME THROUGH LIKE GANGBUSTERS FOR THE KIDS!! Sutter Creek had proven yet again to be an incredible community filled with caring, generous people. After two afternoons of accepting gift donations from our citizens, the Sutter Creek Police Department was thrilled to deliver a truck load of gifts to our schools, who will arrange for those gifts to be given to the kids!!... Our Police Volunteers, Cadets and Officers all took part in the fun filled operation as well, with a generous donation from the Sutter Creek Police Officers Association and help from DA Investigator Robert Harmon. Thank you all for taking the time to go to the store and buy a gift for a local kid. You may not get to see it, but you all made some kids very happy. From all of us at SCPD, we wish you the very best during this super wierd, surreal holiday season of 2020.
