Yesterday, 9/7/20 at noon, Amador County formed an OES Strike Team for in county use. This was formed for the PSPS and Red Flag warnings. The Strike Tram is com...prised of Engines from Jackson Fire Department, City of Ione Fire Department, Sutter Creek Fire District, Amador Fire, and Mule Creek CDC Fire. You may see engines sitting out in front of stations around the county with 4025C written in white on the windshields. These are the engines held at key points around the county to bolster the amount of equipment and personnel responding to any new Wildland Fire start in the county. SCPD NEEDS THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE ON AN ASSAULT CASE Today at approximately 12:40 PM, SCPD Officers were dispatched to the unit block of Ridge Road regarding a... report of a shooting. When they arrived officers encountered a seriously injured Mariposa County man. Because of his injuries he was transported via air ambulance to a Sacramento area trauma center. SCPD was assisted on scene by the Amador County Sheriff's Department CSI team, as well as investigators from the Amador County DA's Office, and officers from the Jackson PD. If anyone has information about this assault, or witnessed anything that might be related, please call Acting Sergeant Matt Brewer at (209) 267-5646. Around 9am this morning a driver stopped his truck in the parking lot of a gas station at the corner of Highway 49 & Ridge Road. After the driver exited the tru...ck, his floor mat ended up applying pressure to the accelerator, causing the truck to speed forward without the driver. The truck collided with a utility pole and came to rest in the northbound lanes of Highway 49. We are happy to say the driver had only minor injuries from being knocked away from the truck, and no one else was injured. The collision caused more than 2,000 PG&E, Comcast, and AT&T customers to lose service. Those companies are working diligently to restore all services.
