Filing deadlines have been changed so that flow-through entity return deadlines are due prior investor return deadlines. This means that partnerships and S-corporations operating on a calendar year will have a new deadline of March 15. The deadline for calendar year based C-Corporations will be pushed from March 15 to April 15.

Hi everyone! We have not been on here much but that's changing!

The phrase "It's so hard to find good help these days" is amazingly accurate! I see friends posting about how hard it is to find a good job. The media tells us that there's not enough job growth. And now people expect $15/hour for work that a 12-year old could complete. I think the problem isn't the job market...it's the workforce. Especially my generation...so many people expect to make six figures just for occupying a chair. The sense of entitlement is real...and sickening.... Small businesses have great potential, but they have huge risks. Anyone that can start a business and make it successful has probably sacrificed untold hours and several years of a social life to get successful. Often, the moment you finally realize "success" is when you're ready to hire your first employee. Small-business employees are hard to find though. 9 out of 10 will see the successful owner and expect to join in their success...immediately. While they often get paid more than a typical entry-level position, they work in close proximity to someone making much more money than they do, and often working less hours now that they have an employee. They get jealous, and expect the reward without the sacrifice. Anyone can work at a company with 3,000 employees. They simply show up and stay under the radar. But working for a small company means you can't hide...you actually have to WORK. The flip-side, however, is that you can make a LOT more money and get promoted much faster if you help a small business grow. One of these days, I may learn the secret to hiring great employees. Tonight, I'm back on the hunt to help a friend and client find the help he needs to take his business to the next level!
