The Wednesday Meet up paddle. The water was like paddling on glass! A blue bird sky with the sun shining warmly as we paddled to 22nd Landing and back. What an amazing morning on Friday! We were greeted by many locals: including sea lions, birds, fish, 2 grey whales and a pod of common dolphins inside the harbor. One of the whales decided to follow us around the harbor before taking a rest near mother's beach. I didn’t have a camera this morning, but there are several gray whales in Cabrillo Harbor right now. They are wild animals so we make no promises how long they’ll be here, but hit us up if you want to paddle out in the next couple of days and try to see them. One went right under my board, love these gentle giants! Update: my friend Mae took some photos while she was out for a run. I can't claim the photos, but they are of the same whales. Yay!

Hi folks! The Facebook says I should write something to keep my audience engaged. So...yesterday I went to Half Moon Bay to surf some humongous waves. I brought my amigo Sergio Peñaloza along as he has been frothing to charge Mavericks. With five years of psychological, emotional and physical prep, he was ready for his maiden voyage. It was so nice to see my winter family! They all welcomed Sergio and were eager to share tips for his first time. After a 20 minute paddle ...out, he just sat in the channel and watched. High tide filled in and shut the place down. As we paddled in, Sergio caught a little one on the inside and got a little sample of beatings to come as he was drilled at Mushroom Rock. What the f&$@ was that!!?! That was rent, I said. You’ll be paying a lot of that. Attached are some pics. I was trying to pick off waves on the inside when this one showed up - I’m on the far left.

Our namesake, Wade, got a new knee today. And a confusing visit from a panda truck that doubles as an X-ray machine. We’re open and ready to go though Corey and I will be around and ready to get you out on the water, so call us anytime. He’s doing great, by the way, pain is well managed and he’s sleeping it all off.
