We’ve been silent for a while now and a lot has happened since we posted last. We’ve started a retail partnership with some friends and helped bring @partnersplantshop plans to the sunset. They’ve helped bring new life and new energy to the shop and are a great addition to the sunset community. While our retail operations have dialed back and our manufacturing operations downsized we have focused on what we love most; building high quality, custom surfboards for our loyal customers through our @las_olas label. We know a lot of people are facing some hard times right now and it’s a strange time to be jumping back in the saddle but we want to encourage everyone to support the businesses they love in these hard times. It’s been ten amazing years in our sunny little Noriega shop and in that time we have learned and grown so much. Now, with retail scaled back and services like ding repair eliminated, we are focusing our efforts on surfboard manufacturing. We still offer limited shaping lessons as well as blanks and other board building supplies on order through the sunset shapers website (www.sunsetshapers.com) but this page is refocusing on and rebranding as Las Olas Surfboards. We are still building boards and still taking custom orders, check out the revamped Las Olas website (link also in bio) and stop by @partnersplantshop to check out our growing fleet of demo boards-once things begin to open up of course. Since the beginning, our goal has been to provide custom boards and quality repair services to surfers in our community and to share our passion for building high quality surfboards through our shaping lessons. In order to better focus on those goals we will be reducing store hours to appointment only Mon-Thr with extended hours Fri-Sun. We hope to spend more time doing the things we love so that we can have more time to share them with all of you.
