Faithful friends and customers of Summer Cottage Most of you are aware that my dear sweet sister Kay, best friend, confidant, financial advisor and business partner, passed away unexpectedly on March 22. After a few months of sleepless nights wondering how I could carry on at Summer Cottage and continue to care for our father full time, I awoke with a clear answer that I must care for our dad and let go of our store. I do believe Kay had a hand in the worry free sale of our business sending a wonderful local family to buy it. Look for a new retail business soon at our former location named Mercantile on Main. Summer Cottage will no longer be a physical shop, but I will still hunt for unique items and will post them soon for sale here. Thank you all for your patronage. Kay and I had a great run for eleven wonderful years.

We are open today for this giant Amgen finish and block party. Honoring Kay by following through with the plans we had for this momentous day in Morro Bay. The Race Finish is right here at our sweet store. If you plan to come here today park starting at Morro Bay Blvd. and south of our store as you can't cross Harbor Street even on foot. We bike gifts and of course awesome souvenirs as we have had for the past 11 years abd a whoke lot more. Come on down and enjoy the day!

Thank you to our loyal and wonderful customers who are streaming in to see us and to say how much they love my sister Kay and our store. She will be missed by so many. Today is the eleventh anniversary of our quaint shop. It sure has been a great time. What a wonderful partner and mentor Kay has been to me all my life. I will have to sell our sweet business as I need to care for our dad. Summer Cottage Customers, I am so sad to inform you that Kay, while recovering at UCLA Medical Center, had a blood clot travel to her lung and was unable to get through it and passed away on March 22. The store will reopen after things settle down. As her sister and business partner, I would like to continue with our sweet business. Look to our post for updates and information when we will reopen. About this picture: Our Mayor and the Chamber of Commerce started a Memorial at our store seeing it last evening I took this pic. I love the heavenly glow from the business next doors window. The people in our community are so kind and loving. Thank you to all who have been leaving flowers and gifts and nice words.
