So, I had a very mixed experience today. A person I was talking to about how rough life has been. (permission received to share) Me: Let me share a personal ex...perience with you. When I was 19 my uncle committed suicide and to make a long story short; he had been waiting for a job, made a series of poor decision that resulted in martial separation; he started drinking very heavily. He made a decision to commit suicide while his mother was a church, but she came home early. As a result he went ahead and killed himself, even though she was home with him(he was the only child). That Monday about 9am, the telephone rung and I answered. The job that he was waiting for called to extend him the position. I said, wow if you would have called on Friday then maybe he wouldn't have died by suicide-yesterday. Person: Quiet Me: what I am saying is, what a difference, a day makes. If you can just hold on one more day, you never know what it will bring. Person: Shaking their head, says "one more day, if I can just hold on one more day." Then the person lowered their head and broke down crying. The person looked up and said, "do you know how many times I wanted to give up and die and hearing you say that, made me so glad that I gave it one more day." Me: eyes filled with tears Person: Shaking their head, LaQuita I have never shared most of the things that I have shared with you to anyone, but do you know if I didn't give it one more day I wouldn't have met my friend and to this day we talk almost everyday. I had no one who cared about me and God gave me a friend! No matter what is happening in your life right now, just give it one more day. And, if things don't change tomorrow keep giving it one more day! #iSpeakLife

We all get so carried away with our lives and the attempt to balance the things that come our way... that we often forget to be gentle with ourselves when we forget something! Rather than name call yourself, allow daily permissions to forget, to be okay or not okay or to not wash all the dishes (a day only)! Most importantly, give your self permission to hang on in there! Your quest for purpose and meaning will become clearer!
