We know this month was a little different than we wanted and we didn’t have everything on our usual menu. Have fun decorating your cookie sand gingerbread houses. We have received a ton of questions about extra cocoa bombs this week. We will likely have extras for pick-up. We just need to triple check that all of our pre-orders are properly fulfilled before releasing those extras. We will post on our stories when we know for sure and they will be available for online store purchase. They will come individually boxed, similar to the picture although the bow may change. Thank you soooo much for your orders. You definitely kept our team busy with hand tempering chocolate and building the bombs.

It’s National Ugly Sweater Day! We don’t think these cookies are ugly at all, and they’re tasty. #nationaluglysweaterday We are getting super full with Christmas orders so Wednesday the 23rd is unfortunately now closed to orders. We do have availability for December 24 pick up, 11 am to 1 pm. I’m so sorry if you didn’t get a chance to put in your order yet. We counted how many cookies and cocoa bombs are needed for Wednesday and it’s definitely our max. We are also moving eq...uipment on Tuesday so that starts to limit what we can do. Thursday should still be open for ordering until Saturday at 6 pm, but if we get a huge influx of orders we may have to cap it as well. This is probably my favorite item on our Christmas menu. You’ll get 6 gingerbread house pieces that are frosted with royal icing and stenciled with guides for painting. You’ll get a paint brush, a paint palette, royal icing, and sprinkles to make it even more festive. Plus you’ll get the slower version of this video so you know how to build it. We know Christmas may be a little smaller this year, so let us help you create new Christmas memories. Plus, this will be a gingerbread house you actually want to eat! Last chance to order is this Saturday so hurry to our online store. Kits are $45 and $50 for gluten-free. You can also add on an extra brush and palette so more hands can help. Our kitchen team is working hard to fulfill all of our cocoa bomb orders (pictured is our kitchen manager Iris @eye_riiss) Today is the last day to order cocoa bombs and sugar cookies for pick-up on Saturday. Then this Saturday is the last day to order for pick-up next Wednesday (3-5) or Thursday (11-1). If you already placed an order for 12/25, you should have received an email to confirm your preferred pick-up date. Thank you to everyone for your support during a crazy transition time for us. Long Post Ahead Today is #worldmentalhealthday I want to share my story to help spread awareness and let others know they aren’t alone. I wasn’t supposed you to be a cake decorator or business owner. The summer before my senior year at Cal Poly, I was supposed to be in summer school. The night before the quarter started, my depression hit its darkest point. Like dark. Thankfully less than 24 hours my parents and sister were on their way up to SLO to pick me up. My mom ...didn’t want me to be alone. She wanted me to know how much I was loved. She had been taking cake decorating classes and told me to tag along. After the class, I told her it was amazing. For those two hours, I wasn’t thinking about my depression. I didn’t have any negative thoughts. I didn’t have the time. I just wanted to figure out how to make this. Immediately she and I signed up for the next course. While back at school, I found every excuse to bake and decorate cakes.Cake decorating became my outlet. It allowed me to focus on something other than my depression. Slowly but surely, I was able to pull myself out of that deep dark place. After graduation, I couldn’t think of anything else to do but decorate cakes. I wanted something of my own and thus, Sugar Lab was born. I’ve seriously cried while typing this, for a whole range of emotions. I cry because I remember how alone and sad I felt. But then I look around the bakery, watching the amazing women who work for me, and I’m so proud of how much I’ve grown in 10 years. I am thankfully no longer actively depressed. I found my passion and turned that into a thriving business. I hope to continue to cultivate an environment for my team to create beautiful and delicious desserts!
