County Board of Supervisors 1115 Truxtun Avenue Bakersfield, CA 93301 Kern’s oil & gas industry impacts our entire community, economy, and supports our programs. Imagine all the livelihoods that will be impacted. Every first responder who will be affected by the loss in revenue. Every citizen who would be affected by public safety losing funding, every school district or school board that would be adversely affected. Every insurance agent that insures employees, homeowners, or cars. Every company that purchases healthcare plans and 401K benefits. Every employee who will lose their jobs, opportunities, and possibly homes. Every 1st, 2nd, or 3rd tier contractor that provides services. Every ex-felon employee that has broken the cycle of prison because of the oil and gas industry. Every child who has gone to boys camp or benefitted from oil & gas community contributions. Every realtor who sells homes to someone who has income generated by the oil and gas industry. Every car dealership and their employees who won’t be selling cars to oil company or ancillary employees. Every California citizen and industry that benefit from petroleum byproducts. These attacks against this industry impact everything and anything in our county. Just this week we saw that AERA was forced to lay down one rig which affected 86 jobs. Let’s pack that meeting room to show we stand with the industry!

Job Purpose Primary responsibility is to for support oilfield operations. The position is diverse and job duties vary on a daily basis. May be required to work with hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment and may also be required to work in all types of inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. Duties and Responsibilities:... Safely work in a potentially hazardous environment Secure equipment and safely transport according to company policy and DOT regulations Install and make repairs to oil and produced water tanks, including confined space entry Dig pits and lines Install and repairs motors on equipment Operate high pressure power washing equipment Install and repairs piping, valves, pumps, motors Install and repair pipelines Repair dikes, perform general ground work around well sites Perform access road upkeep and maintenance Clean up oil spills and general clean up Must be proficient with hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment Communicates effectively to get along with customers, co-workers and management and deal effectively and professionally under pressure. Effective in creating and working in a harmonious work environment Develop a general knowledge of SSI SOP’s and frequently refer to SOP manual Follow all SSI and customer Policies and Procedures Stand fire watch Handle/load piping and/or debris into containers Perform spotter activities, back up assistant or swamper requirements Traffic/site control Help identify any hazardous condition on the job site Position Requirements: First Aid and CPR certifications Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out process Ability to read and write in English 1 year experience in the Oil Field, Demolition, Waste Remediation and/or Industrial Service
