Friday plant palette. Sunflowers commonly describe a family of beautiful plants that are part of the "Helianthus" family. These iconic flowers provide a beautiful spectacle, but are also fantastic for the environment. Helianthus flowers are found in a range of different species, sizes and styles. Together, they thrive in full sun and aren't overly picky about soil composition. Consider planting these if you want to encourage a rich ecosystem of plants, birds and bees.

This was a design feasibility exercise conducted for Capri Hotel. As always, when conceptualizing our landscape designs, we provide an extensive mood board to convey our design intent. This important discovery stage helps our clients envision their dream project.

Studio 1515 Friday Plant Palette. It’s always interesting to us to watch the plant combinations that we have designed, progress through the seasons. In a beautiful contrasting fashion, we see the flowering plumes of a large grass - #Miscanthus ‘Morning Light’. Situated behind, are #Dodonaera viscosa purpurea, providing a dark and moody maroon color, along with a variety of textures that tie the composition together.

One of our core values is to use our professional skills to give back to the community. We have at least one pro bono project on the boards at any given time. Currently we are working on the very early stages of a project here in Napa that would offer transitional housing for 3-4 selected non-profit organizations. Studio 1515 Friday Plant Palatte. Passiflora incarnata otherwise known as Purple Passionflower or "MayPop" is a native of Southeastern United States and is hardy in USDA growing zones 5 to 9. These tropical climbers can easily grow 20 feet or more per year provide an ideal alternative for a wall, fence or trellis runner. Prune the vines in the early spring to control growth, promote lush foliage, and increase flower and fruit production. Once established, they provide good coverage and a satisfying flower display. Recent Studio 1515 Project. Saratoga Vineyard is a 20 lot subdivision located on an infill parcel within the City of Napa city limits. Studio 1515 prepared a schematic landscape plan and landscape construction documents for City review and approval, which includes proposed plant palettes to meet state and local water conservation ordinances, street trees and common area landscaping. Studio 1515 worked closely with the civil engineers early on to ensure coordination on grading and stormwater management throughout the design development and construction documentation phases. Red Monkey Flower is a small shrub that is most commonly near coastal areas. It grows to about 2 feet high, with dark green leaves, and bright red flowers. Best planted in full sun, this wildlife friendly foliage attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. As difficult as it might be, deadheading will encourage a more a rich blossom and fuller growth in the next flowering season. Studio 1515 Past Project. The completion of each project, provides huge satisfaction. This Browns Valley Napa Residence underwent a complete redesign. The existing grass turf was removed along with a concrete path to front door. Our design saw the installation of an array of shrubs and perennials of varying heights and textures. Look for more photos in March and April when the design fills in.
