Sundays at 10:00 AM: "Virtual Eucharistic Service" This week (and the next two of Father's vacation time), Rev. Carol Ziegler will preside over morning prayer. We welcome her and give thanks in her reflections and homilies. Given that the format does not include communion, you will not need to prepare bread and wine. However, we look forward to worshipping with your prepares hearts and minds! Please remember also to send any prayer requests in the chat that have not yet been ...shared in Maureen's update emails. A bulletin for the service is attached. link: https://apu.zoom.us/j/97102413111 Sundays at 11:15 AM: "Adult Formation Class" This week we continue forward into learning more from the book Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices by Scott Gunn & Melody Wilson Shobe. Due to Father John's vacation time, the class will be led by Carol Ziegler. The class will begin at 11:15 (or shortly thereafter if he ordination runs long). Passages from the text are read aloud for those not having a book (so don't let that hold you back). This week, the central BIblical topic of salvation and grace will be discussed. This is a perfect time to start joining the group! Episcopal churches share an old and grand tradition. Join us in learning more about how your personal spiritual walk today can be informed by the tradition that we share! Feel free to come with your questions. link: https://apu.zoom.us/j/97102413111 Next week, I will be able to prepare bulletins in two formats: color and black and white for those who do not know the printer controls for that transformation. Thank you for all of the helpful comments through these difficult digital periods.

#DailyInvitation Connect: German mystic Hildegard of Bingham (1098- 1179), abbess and polymath, is honored today on the Episcopal Church's Liturgical Calendar w...hile the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer remembers the Rev. James Friedrich on the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood in 1970. Reflect: "One of the most fascinating figures of 12th-century Europe, Hildegard was given to the church by her parents and was raised by an anchoress who became abbess of a convent. From childhood Hildegard was subject to supernatural religious experiences which she wrote about in works she called Scivias. At age 38, she became the abbess of the community in which she was raised. "She began to illustrate her Scivias and to share them with others. She attracted the attention of two of the most powerful men of her day: the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa and Abbot Bernard of Clairvaux. She was invited to do preaching missions and traveled widely in northern Europe where she was gratefully received by princes and prelates. "Hildegard's writings covered an amazing range of subjects: natural science, medicine, and philosophy, as well as theology. She carried on brilliant correspondence with kings and queens, abbots, archbishops, and even popes. She was an accomplished musician and wrote some remarkable liturgical compositions.... Miracles were attributed to her." -- Forward Movement Act: Let us pray today's collect, "God of all times and seasons: Give us grace that we, after the example of your servant Hildegard, may both know and make known the joy and jubilation of being part of your creation, and show forth your glory not only with our lips but in our lives; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen." Image: Undated stained glass #feedinghungryhearts #ConnectReflectAct
