New Beer in the Backyard * * * Berliner Weisse 1.1 - 3 Ways... * Friends...In our efforts to explore new beer styles we have yet to brew here, we continue delving into sours. In this latest offering, we have taken up Berliner Weisse...the classic sour German wheat beer. At its base, this beer is very straw pale in color, possesses a sharply sour character marked by tart lemon and apple, has a bready wheat flavor, and is effervescent throughout. However, as you all might guess, we couldn’t just stop at this. So, we fruited two barrels, one with 75 pounds of plums and the other with 75 pounds of raspberries. Each maintains the base Berliner character and adds its individual fruit notes to create two spectacular offerings. The Berliner with Plums has a super soft plum nose, with both sweet and tart flavors throughout. The Berliner with Raspberries is right in your face from the moment you lift the glass. So, you got three choices: straight Berliner, one with Plums, and the other with Raspberries. Swing on by the back porch when you get a chance and give each one a try. New Beer on the Back Porch * Double Not Double NEIPA * Loaded with Tangerine, Mandarin and Melon, our Double Not Double is a B-Sides Experimental. We forgot our motto ‘Slow Down’ and milled the grain for this recipe a tick high. Oops, instead of a Double IPA, we ended with a slightly lower ABV IPA. After sampling, we are just fine with this Happy Little Accident.... Hurry up before we sample it all!
