When the virus broke out and it looked like our Holy Week was going to be drastically changed I deeply grieved. But after grieving I felt the Lord lay a vision ...in my heart about leaning into these difficult times and seeking a way to have an embodied Holy Week experience for my parish in which we could celebrate together even though we are physically separately. This gave birth to "Holy Week @HOME" a sort of 'Common Holy Week in Uncommon Times' As part of this we are preparing Holy Week Gift Baskets for our congregation and anyone in the Stockton/Lodi/San Joaquin Country Region who wants to journey with us this Holy Week @HOME. (If you want a Holy Week Basket please message me your address) The Holy Week Gift Basket will include some Holy Week Tools and Sacramentals: Service Guides for each service (Adapted for use @HOME), Vigil Candle, Votive Candle, Cross, Holy Water, Easter Bells, Resurrection Egg with Premium Chocolate, and more! In addition we are making these Holy Week @HOME materials available to EVERYONE via our website. Each Service's PDF file has links to the music (via Youtube). We even have a Taizé Stations of the Cross with a Service Guide with Written Music and a link with the audio from our Church's Taizé Stations from last year. I went from grieving the loss of what I was expecting Holy Week to be like this year... but now I am EXCITED about what God is doing in our circumstance and feel this will be a Holy Week to remember and I trust the Lord to meet each of us in an intimate and personal way. I also feel that this is a great opportunity to remember the persecuted Church throughout History and around the world, who usually have to celebrate Holy Week alone or in very small groups. Let us celebrate in solidarity WITH them and prayer FOR them! Peace be with you all, Fr. Joshua+ Rector of St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church
