We are grateful for the support of the National Endowment for the Arts, whose funding provides the opportunity for us to continue presenting free music and arts education programs for all. #freeconcerts #livemusic #lifeaftercovid
Who's ready for live music?? This Flaming Lips concert looks awesome! We might not have bubbles :) but we do hope to share the joy of live music with you all this summer. If outdoor concerts are allowed, will YOU plan on attending? (Assuming all safety protocols are in place...are you comfortable with the idea of being at a concert?). ... #livemusic #lifeaftercovid
We look forward to sharing the joy of live music with you again. Happy New Year! #freeconcertsforall
Thanks to The Psychedelic Furs for sharing this image from their great performance at the Grove last summer. We can't wait to share the experience of live music with our community again. Stay tuned for updates in 2021! #freeconcertsforever
Live music alert: tickets just went on sale for Pink Martini, performing at a drive-in! So great to see concerts coming back, even if they look a little different... #noisepop #livemusic #SaveOurStages
#SOSFest is happening Oct 16-18 with a killer line-up and a chance for all of us to help support independent music venues across the country. #SaveOurStages
A new group, Parkside Heritage, is working to designate the beloved Trocadero Inn as a City landmark. Built in 1892, it was later renovated and restored by the legendary architect Bernard Maybeck (who also designed the first stage at #SternGroveFestival). #LoveParkside #SFHistory
Happy 20th Anniversary to our friends at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass! Let the Music Play On!
Thanks to Western Neighborhoods Project for this fun video on the history of the beloved Trocadero!
Live music returns to SF in outdoor spaces! The new Just Add Music permit is free and allows live entertainment in various public places: patios, rooftops, farmers markets, parking lots and more. (Bands in Jack Kerouac Alley?! Yes please!). Let's support our local musicians and enjoy the return of live music while staying safe and healthy.
So sorry to hear of the passing of reggae legend Toots Hibbert. You brought joy to so many people with your music. As Executive Director, I want to say thank you for rocking our stage last summer and especially for creating a special memory backstage for my family, who were visiting from out of state. You were so friendly and gracious! Godspeed to you, Sir!
Heartbroken to hear this news. His performance on our stage last summer was an all-time Festival highlight. He was a brilliant songwriter, singer and musician who will never be forgotten.
While we are saddened by the loss of Ronald Bell from Kool & the Gang, we are forever grateful for the memories we have of his remarkable talent.
We're hiring! Do you have high-level experience as a talent buyer in the music industry? Stern Grove Festival is seeking a new Director of Programming to help us secure diverse, exciting & world-class musical artists for our beloved annual concert series. Position is part-time, year-round. For more info & to apply, please visit http://bit.ly/SGFJobs.
Our beloved volunteers are the heart of #SternGroveFestival, and we thank SF Senior Beat for shining a spotlight on one of the best, Susan Leurey. Thank you Susan, for all you do!
Hi folks, we are experiencing a delay with our Watch Party. We will go live as soon as we can, and meantime you can watch on our website at www.sterngrove.org. Thank you!
