Sterling's Barbers and Stylists

I started to work at Sterlings barbers in 1987 and got my license under my dad, in 1988. At that time I had a young family so I could adjust my hours as needed. I learn how to cut hair and color and style under my dad, Sterling and my sister Kathy. I have got to know many of you as customers and friends. This year has been stressful with the virus still going on and I live now in the central valley. I have been busy helping my daughter with my granddaughters. I have deci...ded not to return to the shop working, and be fully retired. Kathy is at the shop appt only so any of you can call her at 408-297-6705 to set up for haircut. You will be missed! Thank you everyone for your kind words to me about my husbands passing. We were together for 40 years. Alot of memories to remember.

It is with sadness, Kathy husband Steve passed away on Sunday 8/16 in the evening. A celebration of his life will be planned for later. The shop continues to be temporarily closed. Dear Customers, at this time, Sterlings Barbers will be closed until further notice. Our family is going through a difficult time, Kathy's husband Steve, is on hospice and she needs to attend to him at this time. We will keep you posted for any updates. ... We thank you for your patronage all these years at Sterlings.

Unfortunately, we will not be opening the Barbershop outdoors. This causes problems. Getting equipment out like a very heavy Barberchair, weather wind, dust blowing all over, heat, cleaning tools with no station to hold my tools. Too many cars going by and many more reason. I am one person, by myself. I am not in a area this would work. I hope soon we are allowed to work inside. Sorry but it is best to wait.

Now we have to close by Wednesday. A sad day

Hello customers. Hope all is well with you and your family. Here is the lastest news, 3 more weeks of shut down will continue. Too many new cases. Very sad, want to get back to business. Hang in there.

There is to be an Covid-19 update mid week coming . By Santa Clara health officals. Lets hope it is good news for us.

Bad news the Santa Clara County Health Dept. said Hair and Nail salons still can't open up yet. close contact , yes we know. Just let us start small like 1 customer every hour and let's see what happens.

Many of you have been asking if Sterling's can reopen. Unfortunately, not yet. Santa Clara County has said NO contact & low contact businesses can reopen starting Friday. Barbering is a CONTACT type of business, so as of now we remain closed.... We hope to be able to open soon as we still have to pay our rent and bills. When we do reopen, we will be - Appointments only - Allow only one customer in the shop at a time. - Customers must not have a fever or cough within last 3 days. - Customers must hand sanitize and MUST WEAR A MASK - We will wipe down chairs and surfaces in between every customer, and sanitize our tools as we are always required to. We will get through this together, if we all help and support each other! Sterlings has been your family neighborhood Barber and hair shop since 1958. Thank for your patience .Here is the latest about Covid19 / Beauty and Barbershops. The governor as put us in phase 3 opening up Barber and Beauty shop with restrictions. The bad news is that the Counties have the authority to open or not .. And Santa Clara county say not yet. I Don't know what their guidelines are for re-opening. I think closer to July to open up. Sorry ,but lets stay healthy and will see you all soon.
