This concrete and glass structure will rise in the community of Bankers Hill providing a space for modern living while showcasing to its future residents a visual experience of the community's urban landscape from the comforts of their private spaces. Introducing The Leo, a new addition to East Village, Downtown San Diego. This modern multi-family development has this humble simplicity that brings out its roaring identity with subtle yet distinct accents. When you see the metal paneled walls guiding your eyes to a geometric lion mural, you’ll know it’s The Leo. We’re excited to announce that The Jackson was nominated for an Orchid Award for Architecture This mixed-use project in North Park is one that we are very proud to have been a part of. We are proud to see many of our projects being nominated for Orchid Awards this year! Today we are featuring The Jackson, a modern multi-family addition to North Park that includes two levels of commercial space and thirty-one apartments. It features dramatic roof cantilevers that hover sixty feet in the sky, patinaed corten steel panels, and Japanese Shou Sugi Ban siding. Read more about it and check out the photos:

It is important for us at SDA that the homes we design are reflective of the people we create them for. This modern minimalist single-family home in Del Mar was designed to not just be a living space for our clients but to also be a blank canvas for the owners to exhibit their extensive art collection and frame expansive ocean views from the top floor. Likewise, our team used a play of textures, patterns and materials to architecturally represent the owners’ eye for details and design. @ Del Mar, California

Playing with contrasts and finding balance to architectural elements can be a challenge. Instead of defining boundaries between opposing elements, SDA chose to blur the lines between modern and vernacular, between inside and out, and even with the visual space that divides the house from the coast. Washington Crossing is a recently completed multi-family project at the corner of Lincoln & Washington in San Diego. We can’t wait to share more photos of this project soon! SDA did the full scope of architectural design from the feasibility study to the completion of construction as well as the interior design and signage design.
