Children’s Fairyland is a storybook theme-park which has been delighting families in Oakland, California since 1950. On March 13th, 2020 the park was forced to close its gates and furlough most of its 56 employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Go behind the scenes and meet some of the amazing people who have been taking care of the park during "these uncertain times." I grew up in Oakland and went to Fairyland as a kid. I now have two kids of my own who love Fairyland as well.... So this park is a really special place for me and my family. When I heard that Fairyland was in danger of shutting down for good because of the pandemic, I wanted to help in any way I could. I also thought there was an interesting story to tell. So I filmed and edited this short documentary which highlights the truly inspiring people who are keeping this wonderful place from disappearing forever. Their love and dedication to their work is truly inspiring. #ImNotCryingYoureCrying. This video was screened during the online "Celebrity Story Time" event hosted by Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal on Saturday.
