Amazing story! On May 31, a mother and daughter each arrived at Jacobs Medical Center to deliver twins. That’s right, Ana and Maria, 20 years apart in age, arri...ved at the hospital on the same day, and within hours each delivered a set of twins. Four healthy and beautiful boys! Welcome to the world: Juan, Jose, Iker, and Ithan. We are so proud to have you join the UC San Diego Health family. Much love to all of you. This is absolutely extraordinary. It’s a first for us, we were stunned. It’s something you expect to see on Grey’s Anatomy, said Yvette LaCoursiere, MD, obstetrician and gynecologist at UC San Diego Health. We have cared for mothers and daughters who are pregnant at the same time, but never pregnant with twins and delivering spontaneously on the same day. What a great birth story. It’s been a joy for all of us to care for these moms and babies.
