In the spirit of the new year I wanted to take a second and reintroduce myself... I am Jordis (jordie) Small... creator of Stellen Design. I started my business almost 7 years ago ! I love building brands, creating logos, and being creative. For me 2020 brought more than a pandemic and political turmoil... it brought my greatest creation and the biggest blessing, my little man Otto. 2020 was a year of personal and business growth and change. I had to learn to navigate bein...g a business owner, designer, wife, and now mother. I made the decision to take Wednesdays off which was hard and scary as a workaholic but having a day mid week just to focus on Otto is worth it ten fold. I had to think outside the box on ways to grow my business and stay motivated. I love to travel for workshops and design conferences, I miss that dearly but I know it will happen again. The last picture in this post I was newly pregnant, the first picture was taken in October and now my son is a week shy of 1 year! This is one of three concepts presented to Manhattan Village Estates in Manhattan Beach CA. I wanted to share this concept because it specially designed with another logo in mind. Manhattan Village Estates sits behind a very popular shopping plaza called Manhattan Village. While we were working on the logo re-design one idea the client really liked was creating something that would complement the logo from shopping plaza. While the shopping plaza is a word mark logo with wa...ves or water behind it, Manhattan Village Estates wanted to focus more on trees than water since that is the big selling point for the community.
