Happy 1 Anniversary to the State Of Flux Shop!!A year ago today, we opened our doors to the public for the first time. The day was graced with family, friends and complete strangers coming together to celebrate the milestone. Laughter, great conversation, fire tunes (@sazonlibre), smackin’ food (@sfchickenbox) and delicious drinks (@harmonicbrewing and @eltesorotequila) put the bow on the day. In the midst of the joyous day, none of us would’ve foresaw what the world would be going through just a few months later. A global pandemic, a subsequent shutdown, police brutality (and murder) being showcased to millions more frequently than ever, protests, riots, a deep divide in political views, so on and so forth. At the end of the day, WE are currently in a State Of Flux. The timing and the creation of our brand, along with its philosophy, was impeccable and that wasn’t by design (no pun intended). In all reality, the future will always be uncertain but we have a choice as long as we’re alive and capable. The choice is this: you either fall back or move forward, so...what’s y(OUR) next move?!? Our Prowler design is the most iconic and the most popular among our supporters to date. This design, which features a tiger on the prowl, symbolizes our ability to keep moving forward despite any circumstance or obstacle. The latest iteration of our Prowler design comes in the form of these two new strapback hats, which were constructed of a nice, brushed cotton twill. As a nation, we can advance in things like science and technology but not ideology and overall thought process?? Institutional racism, systematic oppression, discrimination, police brutality and so on are very much embedded in the fabric of our country’s past and present. In fact, we are fighting the same fight today that our parents and grandparents had fought 30 and 60 years prior. Truly sad. Ridiculous. Will our kids and grandkids have to continue this fight into the future?? Probably so. But TODAY we are no longer just asking for progress but instead demanding significant change through action. In our eyes, it’s about time we advance as country! #StateOfFluxMentality
