Our Defending the Faith Conference for 2020 is now complete--except for the fact that this year the conference is available online at our website and our YouTube account for years to come. If you missed the "live" sessions, please check into the recordings. Lots of valuable encouragement and practical study for helping us confirm our own faith AND to help us serve our friends and family members who struggle to believe in God, Jesus as His Son, and the Scriptures as authoritative. AT least 36 met tonight on Zoom for our Wednesday night study of the Life and Epistles of Peter the Apostle. Thanks to all who showed up! If you haven't been doing so, please consider taking an hour or so and joining in for this study. Peter is an amazing character--Gretchen Beatty suggested this study last year as I was planning for sermons and classes. You need to be invited to participate so leave a message here or email me at [email protected] for an invitation and to get the password for entrance to the class. This Sunday morning we'll be studying more about Jesus as we continue reading and studying through Matthew. Some meet at the building but most participate through the livestream service. statecollegeblvdchurchofchrist.org. 10:15 is worship in English. Spanish worship is at 9 am.

We've been waiting for our governing authorities to decide what would be required for us to begin meeting together again. Based on that criteria we welcome anyone who is healthy and is unafraid of getting sick to begin meeting on Sundays for worship. No Bible Classes yet. Spanish language group will come together at 9 am as they have been and English worship will start at 10:15. We want time to re-sanitize the assembly area. Loving God is essential for us to please Him, BUT if we don't love one another, how can we claim to love God? And if we love one another we don't want to put anyone at risk, physically or spiritually. We are coming to the seventh Sunday for our LiveStream worship "assembly" and THANK YOU to all who have made our assembly times productive and powerful. Our Spanish language group meets at 9 am and the English language group meets at 10 am. Our website is statecollegeblvdchurchofchrist.org and you are welcome to join in. We worship together much as we would if we were in the same place--singing, praying, Publicly reading scripture, admonition (sermon), giving (each one is ..."laying by in store" as 1 Cor 16:1-2 teaches) and some are mailing their contributions to the church building, some dropping it by, and some are mailing directly to Larry Oehlerts so he can make bank deposits and cover the checks that continue to be written. Missionaries still need support, lights and water departments still want to be paid--Polo and I enjoy being financially supported to do what we continue to do. And, of course, our primary purpose on the Lord's Day is to remember Jesus' death as He instructed--we partake of the Lord's Supper each Sunday. Some are doing personal Bible studies by phone, email and by using resources in their homes. The baptistry remains ready for those who are ready to put on Christ in baptism! Wednesday night Bible study is continuing through Zoom--email Jimmy at [email protected] for instructions to join that class. Our elementary grade students have their Bible study on Zoom on Friday afternoons at 2 pm. Jimmy can provide information to enable you to join that class as well. It appears we may be continuing this for at least another month--so hold on, be safe, and watch out for one another to keep each other safe. We begin a study of the prophet Hosea this coming Sunday, November 24, 2019. Hosea's wife might not have been the "pick" of Hosea but God had a reason for Hosea's marriage. "Where is Your Wife From" will be a reminder to us of what makes a marriage godly. God's teaching about marriage is certainly not the current norm in society but it is God's Will that His People should be concerned about, right? Come join us as we study this important topic! Jimmy

During a break from learning better how to lead acapella worship, these guys invade a ChikFilA in Nashville to the delight of patrons and workers alike. What a great idea! Sometime when you least expect it, a group of us may break out in song at your favorite eatery!

Thanks to Linda and Cathy for being with Arlene and Danny for Youth in Action last Saturday at the Central church on Ball Road in Anaheim. Debbie and I could be there for the morning sessions. It was a good day!
