Merry Christmas Patterson! We hope you have a safe and happy day.
Like everything else in 2020, we modified Shop with a Cop this year. Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!
We need your help. In less than a week, we have had two Patterson residents die in two separate traffic collisions within our city limits. The fog is thick, the roads are wet and people are late to destinations. Please slow down, keep your lights on, don't drink and drive and leave a little early if you are going somewhere. Please pass this along to your family, friends and neighbors and lets all have a safe holiday.
Some food for thought. Occurred in Salida. Be safe out there and watch out for your neighbor.
It may be getting cold outside, but that doesn't mean we aren't going to be out there enforcing traffic violations. Slow down, make a full stop, let that pedestrian get across the road or you may be meeting one of your traffic units. Have a safe and fun weekend.
Well, we served another warrant today, Sept. 30th, 2020, on Orange Ave. related to an illegal marijuana grow. We do these search warrants to enforce not only the laws related to illegal marijuana, but the secondary crimes that are associated. In the service of the warrant today in addition to marijuana and firearms being seized, we uncovered some serious animal abuse. At this illegal grow we found a horse on the brink of death that had been left out to die. Animal Control... responded to the residence and unfortunately, due to the condition of the horse, had to ethically euthanize the horse at the scene. Additionally, we found contraband and animals associated with rooster fighting. The service of these search warrants are for the safety of our town. There simply is no room for this type of activity in our community. There was one arrest made, approx. 1500 plants and 1 pound of processed product was confiscated, approx. $5k in cash was found, and 12 firearms were seized. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Highway 33/Oleander Update..... We want to give a shout out to the city for organizing a clean up of trash along the oleanders that line Highway 33. We are just there as support. We are aware of the homeless issues associated with these oleanders and are working towards a long term solution rooted in compassion and accountability. This will not be an overnight fix and today is just one of the first steps to be taken. If you get a chance, make sure to thank a city worker for the work they are putting in or just give them a honk of support when driving by.
Today, Sept. 24th, 2020, Patterson Police Services along with the Stanislaus County Sheriff CRD Team served a warrant related to an illegal marijuana grow just outside the city limits. These illegal marijuana grow operations bring with them secondary crimes including home invasions, homicide and human trafficking. In today’s case the suspects were using a child’s room to store and hide processed marijuana, going as low as hiding it under and in the crib and in the drawers of ...the changing table. When we target and eradicate these illegal operations it’s for the safety of the community. The legal marijuana operations must comply with health and safety regulations that the illegal operations do not abide by. Today’s operation netted approx. 3700 plants, approx. 150 pounds of processed marijuana, a large amount of cash and a firearm. Several arrests were made including for the charge of child endangerment. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
An incident that happened in Newman today.
You may have heard, Patterson has a new chief! Meet Chief Clayton. He joined Patterson Police Services in September 2020. He has one request: What are you wanting to see in future community reports?
