Last but not Least to close out #NationalAthleticTrainingMonth our Director of Athletic Training, Anthony Pass! Although he doesn't directly oversee one team he has a staff of 25 who he helps on a daily basis. We appreciate the behind the scenes work that goes on #NATM22
HAPPY #NATM to Halie, who works directly with our Football program. We appreciate your constant help and positivity with a large and very time consuming sport in addition to your responsibilities within the APGAT program. #CATA #FWATA #D8 #NATA
Several members of the Stanford Sports Medicine staff volunteered at the Redwood City location of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula this week. They prepared and distributed almost 500 free hot meals for members of the community in need. Meals were prepared and distributed following COVID safety measures and drive-through pick-up. #servingthecommunity #stickingtogether #GoCard

#FlashBackFriday to when we had students on campus... Our APGAT, Mitchell, was able to spend some time lecturing and demonstrating the use and application of Blood Flow Restriction. BFR occludes venous return while still allowing partial arterial flow. One way that we've implemented BFR is to assist with muscle atrophy after injury. By altering the occluded limb, there's an increase in metabolic stress to the muscle and gives the perception that it's working to its' max capacity. This works great when your SA have ROM limitations, and/or weight restrictions. #BFR #BloodFlowRestriction #gocard
We are grateful for all that have joined forces throughout 2020. #humpday #thankyou #gocard
