Thank you to everyone who has helped us with our research on perceptions of coronavirus! We really appreciate your participation in our research and will share what we find! We’ve been getting a lot of questions and want to help clarify some things: 1. Who are we? We’re researchers in the Psychology Department at Stanford University. You can learn more about us and the work we do at http://mbl.stanford.edu/... 2. What is this study? We’re running a survey study to understand perceptions and behaviors related to the novel coronavirus. This study has been approved by the Stanford Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure research compliance 3. Why was the Facebook page created so recently? Given the scope and speed at which the coronavirus has spread, we have decided to use Facebook to collect survey data. This is our first time collecting data this way so our Facebook page was created very recently. 4. Why does the survey link not go to a .edu site? At Stanford, we use a survey platform called Qualtrics to run our study. This is a commonly used tool by researchers at Stanford and other institutions. Learn more at http://uit.stanford.edu/service/survey or http://www.qualtrics.com/ 5. Why are we asking you to not post comments? If you have questions about the survey specifically, please message us directly. Because of the Stanford IRB, we cannot respond to comments on specific posts. Additionally, because our page is a public business page, we cannot block or disable commenting. 6. What information does the survey collect? At the end of the survey, we will ask you to enter your email if you would like to be contacted for follow-up surveys. You are not required to provide your email. Data will be de-identified and we will never share your contact information and will only present data in aggregate (e.g., to be published in scientific journals or presented at conferences). 7. What if I have other questions? If you have any other questions about the survey please reach out to us directly! 8. How do I participate in the survey? If you are an American resident (18+) and would like to participate in our 15-20 minute survey and enter a draw to win 1 of 10 $100 Amazon Gift Cards, please use the link below: https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com//SV_42teWa3pM6rl8 Thank you again for helping us with our research! We really appreciate your contribution.
