Stanford Global Engineering Programs 08.01.2021

Deadline Approaching!!! Take charge of your summer plans and apply to GEP's Summer Service Learning Program! Opportunities are offered in China, Uganda, Morocco, and Nepal, each location focusing on its own project that will best aid the community! - In China, work with Shan Shui, a large local nature conservation organization, on developing an image recognition system for their night vision cameras.... - In Uganda, help construct, design, perform chemical tests, model etc. and build upon past research/initiatives to improve water infrastructure for selected communities. - In Morocco, partner with the Moroccan Center for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship to empower young people from rural areas with social entrepreneurship and design thinking skills. - In Nepal, team up with Today's Youth Asia, a youth leadership foundation, to design and build sustainable homes for Untouchable Caste families who lost their homes in the 2015 earthquake. Apply ASAP to assist one of these communities in need! Application due date: February 8th, 2018.

Deadline Approaching!!! Make sure to apply to GEP's and the HAAS Center's joint program, Engineering in Service International Fellowship! Spend a summer working full time with a supervisor/mentor in an international organization of your choice! Previous participants created an online "story map" to help track cultural resources for tourism in Nepal and helped improve the engineering and design of roofing solutions in India. Apply ASAP! Application deadline is Feb. 6th, 2018!

Deadline Approaching!!! Don't miss your opportunity to be a part of GEP's Faculty-led program! The Engineering and Archaeology Fellowship is a summer fellowship program created in collaboration with GEP and Professor John Rick of Stanford's Department of Anthropology. Spanning 7 weeks during the summer, this program investigates the application of engineering techniques and strategy to the field of archaeological conservation. During the summer of 2018, this fellowship will take 5-7 engineering students (both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply) to support conservation efforts on the UNESCO World Heritage site of ChavĂ­n de Huantar, Peru. Apply ASAP!! Application deadline is February 8th, 2018.
