CSUEB SHRM Student Chapter 16.01.2021

Managers must "never be dismissive" of accommodation requests. Let's be more aware as leaders and understand the importance of listening. As we have often requested, put yourself in the shoes of the employer, manager, and employee. How will this change your environment and what other challenges do we potentially face in the future?... Share your thoughts and start the discussion. https://www.shrm.org//Court-Expands-Californias-Reasonable

CSUEB SHRM Student Chapter 18.09.2020

Support equal pay for women as it represents how far over time women worked to earn what men did generations ago. It's important as the newly appointed UN messenger of peace, Malala Yousafzai, says about girls "Don't clip their wings and let them fly. Let them go forward," in divulging about educational investment for women and its benefits <3.

CSUEB SHRM Student Chapter 06.09.2020

Today is "Equal Pay Day" It represents how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. Earnings gap will vary within industries, professions and fields, and in locations. The links provided below have more information regarding each state's differentials and laws.... *Are we making progress? Yes, we are, however it is a very slow process. *Is there a demand of action for earning gaps solely between women and men? As this is an area of focus, there is a demand to address the gaps within minorities as well. Each state varies on how they address equal pay to different degrees. *What else should we know? We all have the opportunity to make an impact on equality--How we hire, how we negotiate as employees, how we conduct performance evaluations, and to be aware of our own bias views and values. Stay tuned for additional information this week. http://www.nbcnews.com//see-what-your-state-doing-close-wa http://www.ncsl.org//labor-and-employm/equal-pay-laws.aspx

Do you know where this municipal mural in Hayward's at? I'll give you a hint: stop by the downtown area before or after classes to eat out with your friends or study in an internet cafe. You can take the shuttle there to spot more beautiful art like this one only found in our city #Hayward #HeartoftheBay #DowntownHayward #SSHRMOfficersplace
