Twenty-third Sunday of Pentecost - Holy Eucharist

In the life of our Church we are working our way through Psalm 23. We are inviting our members and those who walk with us to trust in the Lord our shepherd at all times for he makes us lie down beside still waters, he restores our soul and leads us down the path of righteousness. Today, as we vote in our general election, it seems a particularly good day to pray this Psalm and invite us deeper in trust to allow God to lead us at all times and in all circumstances. Fr. He leads me beside still waters.[a] 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness[b] for his name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

When the Lord is m shepherd is a church wide program based on the devotional book by the same name written by Rev. David Roseberry. This four week sermon series and devotional book uses Psalm 23 to invite us on a journey to trust in God as our shepherd at all times. It was created for churches to use during the Covid Pandemic to help all of us trust the Lord during very difficult times. Our Rector Fr. Rob Longbottom will be our preacher.
