IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FIJI GOVERNMENT TAX CHANGES ... On Friday, 17 July, the Fiji Government announced their new Budget effective 01 August 2020 31 July 2021. There has been some changes to the current taxes levied on all hotel rooms and all tourism related services. Taxes will reduce from 25% to 14%. This is quite important as it is effectively an immediate reduction in room, food & beverage pricing. Currently, the Government tax is 25% 9% VAT Tax 10% ECAL Tax 6% Turnover Tax Total tax: 25% From 01 August 2020, the new Government tax is 14% 9% VAT 5% ECAL 0% Turnover Tax Total tax: 14% We are now in the process of re-confirming this advice with the Tax Office and also waiting for an official advice from the Fiji Hotel Association. But it appears that all services from 01 August 2020 will have to be re-invoiced and the values changed to ensure new government taxes are accurate. Departure Tax has reduced by $100.00 Was FJ$200.00 pp Now FJ$100.00 pp Duty on alcohol will have a 50% reduction. If you require further information, please do let us know.
