Dear Patients, We are reaching out to you as our community is shifting focus on the current COVID19 pandemic. As of today, our doors are open and we continue to provide care to patients. We are very concerned about the safety of our patients and staff as well as our families. In light of recent events, we are asking that if you have a fever or cough to refrain from leaving your home, and contacting your medical provider. If you are sick, please reschedule your appointmen...t with our office. We have a large elderly population and we want do everything we can to protect them. Dr. Cindy has received herbal treatment protocols from doctors in China, formulas that have been effective and helpful in treating patients that are infected with the Corona virus. These protocols were shown to reduce the severity and duration of the illness. These protocols include preventative formulas that you can take early on to protect your Qi. In addition, we have non-Chinese medicine immune support supplements that can help keep you healthy. We are offering telephone/skype appointments for patients that are sick with any type of flu, fever, or cough. The herbs will be available for pick up or we can mail them to you. As we have always, as a standard protocol, continue to sanitize our office throughout the day; doorknobs and light switches are wiped down; pens and highly contacted surfaces are continually cleaned; treatment tables are wiped down after each patient, and we have switched to disposable face cradle covers for the time being. Doctors and staff are hand-washing diligently between patients. Hand sanitizer is available in each room and at the front desk for your safety. We will get through this together. Lets do our best to protect our elders as they are highly valued and the most vulnerable population. We can all do our part to prevent the spread of this virus. Please call or email us if you need anything or have questions. In Health, Drs. Noah and Cynthia Splies and staff

CDC: 5 Healthy Eating Tips for the Holidays. 1. Holiday Proof your Plan: Try and eat around the same time you usually eat. If dinner is early, eat less later or visaversa. If you are invited over to dinner, bring a healthy dish to ensure you will eat something more nutritious. I you plan to eat a sweet dessert, cut back on other carbs like potatoes and bread. Don’t withhold food before Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. This will mess up your blood sugar and you will li...kely over eat later. If you do make any bad eating decisions, get right back on track with your next meal. 2. Out Smart the Buffet: Use a small plate and choose foods you really like and avoid other foods you can live without. Start off with eating veggies to feed your hunger. Eat slowly as it takes at least 20 minutes for your brain to register you are full. Avoid or limit alcohol. If you do drink alcohol, be sure to eat food with it. Alcohol can lower blood sugar and interfere with diabetic medication. Check your blood sugar more often during the holidays. Ask your doctor how do adjust your medication if you eat too many carbs. 3. Fit in Favorites: Choose foods you really love and only get one time a year. Eat small servings to savor these dishes. Include these favorite foods in your general meal plan. 4. Keep Moving: Be sure to fit exercise in your schedule. Generally, exercise is skipped from being too busy during the holidays. However, exercise can help make up for eating extra calories and it cuts back on stress. 5. Get your Zzz’s: During the holidays, sleep is affected which leads to sleep loss. This can affect your blood sugar and lead to craving high fat, high carb foods. Try and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Above all, focus on what the holidays are about, connecting with people. This will place more focus on having fun enjoying the company and less emphasis on the food.
