Sunday afternoon Yoga Teacher Training vibes. . We are in Week 3 with our new cohort of 9 trainees, and we’re doing well online! It’s exciting to find new ways to present material and build community while on Zoom. . And what a smart, sweet and insightful group we have!

Thank you to our SPY community for the beautiful send off in our final Zoom classes this weekend! . We had to share the amazing Spiral Path logo backdrop that @cindymassettporcell made, plus the amazing gathering for Peggy’s Saturday class. . It was really a sweet celebration of our years of practice together, and the very fact that all our paths crossed because of yoga. ... . And send off is in quotes above because we’re not really going anywhere! You can still practice with Spiral Path Teachers and stay in touch with your fellow yogis. Check the link in our profile for the list of SPY Teacher contacts on our website. . And you can follow most of us on Instagram since you’re here! @addie_movedtomeditate @peggyburtyoga @soulful_om_om @joyceshumanyoga @staceyjaneyoga @jenniferdalljourneys @sofiamella.yoga @robinsnyder.975 See more

It’s our last week of Zoom classes...very bittersweet. The bitter part is that change is hard, but the sweet is being with you in practice and celebrating the incredible SPY community that we created over the years. . If you have classes in your account, please join us for classes between now and Saturday 9/26. If you still have classes left after that, contact us to transfer them to our on-demand video site Moved To Meditate. We look forward to continuing to support your ...practice there! . Questions about your class pass, accessing Zoom, or transferring to Moved To Meditate? Email us at [email protected] (link in profile). . Thank you ALL for being part of our yoga family. Let’s keep practicing! See more

Have you ever read the text on the painting that hangs above the altar at the front of the studio? (Like while waiting in line for the bathroom ...) . It’s a quote from Zen Teacher Karen Maezen Miller (who happens to live in my neighborhood of Sierra Madre, btw!). This is from her book Paradise in Plain Sight. . I think it’s a good reminder and aspiration during difficult times. You know your experiences are going to shape you - they always do. With practice, intention, and ...the right support, we can actually emerge as solid as a mountain and as open as the sky. . Thank you everyone for all of the words of kindness and understanding this week with our big announcement. We our SPY community. Hope you are practicing your Mountain Pose today and always. See more

Hi everyone, in case you didn’t get our email yesterday, we wanted to share some news with you. After nearly five years of practicing with you at Spiral Path, we have come to the difficult decision to permanently close the studio. . It's been 5 months now since we had to close down in-person classes due to the pandemic. I think we have done an amazing job of hanging in there, and staying connected to each other as much as possible. I am so grateful to the SPY teachers who too...k the leap to lead their classes online, and to you yogis who have practiced with us virtually over the last few months. . Those of you who donated and purchased classes and participated with us during the pandemic made it possible for us to stretch our resources this far, and to thoroughly explore all options. Thank you so, so much. . You can read our full message on our website, for a few more details. One important note - Spiral Path is still a yoga training school. We WILL be holding our 200-Hour Certification online this Fall, as well as the UpRising Yoga Training. These are not affected by the closure of the space. . If you have a current class pass, please visit our website to find out how you can use your sessions. . Some of you have been with us not only for our 5 years as Spiral Path Yoga Center, but since TheraYoga was founded in 2012. It has been amazing to build and be part of a longterm community of practitioners and yoga friends. We've been through our share of ups and downs together, even before the pandemic. . Together, we truly created a sacred space, where many of us found refuge, healing, empowerment, and friendship. . I, and the other SPY Teachers, look forward to continuing to practice with you in the future - online for now, and perhaps in different forms when the time is right. We will post more info soon on how you can stay connected to any of our wonderful teachers that you'd like to practice with going forward. . With gratitude... ~Addie . Links to everything can be found in our profile.

Cate, one of our Teacher Training grads from this Spring, made this amazing book commemorating the group. . It has an image and quote from everyone, and some group photos - one in December of all of us together in person at the studio, and one of us on Zoom, where they graduated online. . Every YTT group is special, and this one was unforgettable for their ability to adapt and keep going when the pandemic hit. And, I’m getting really excited about the new YTT group tha...t’s currently forming for our fully online training starting in September! . Interested in joining us? This is a collage of some (but not all!) of the amazing speakers who will be presenting at the UpRising Yoga Training in less than a month! @uprisingyoga . Check the link in our profile to find the full list of speakers and training details on our website. It’s fully online, and you’ll get access to the recordings after the live training. . Early Bird Discount through this week! Ends 8/22... ... . #Repost @atasteofyoga with @get_repost Ever since the "A Nation at Risk" report, filled with incendiary language, we educators emphasized unconnected approaches in teaching and neglected the social-emotional learning needs of children. We can no longer ignore the trauma all are experiencing (including all staff and families). This is why I'm sharing and inviting my network to this online 2-day training on September 12-13 facilitated by @uprisingyoag It is for all and particularly beneficial to service professionals (teachers, social workers, nurses, etc.) and yoga teachers, since we are all finding the need to be trauma-informed. A few years ago this training provided me valuable tools, as both educator and mindfulness practitioner, and I'm honored to be sharing an hour among an incredible list of speakers and teachers who work with children and youth in at risk populations. Register by going to @spiralpathyogacenter and a link is also in my bio . Whether you are able to attend this training or not, ensure that healing-based practices, through trauma informed learning, are taking place this year. . #mentalhealth #socialemotionallearning #traumainformed #wellness #healingbasedpractices #mindfulness #meditation #spiralpathyogacenter #uprisingyoga #yoga #yogaheals #traumainformed #traumainformedyoga #healingbasedpractice #repost from @rebecajudithandrade

And this Fall, we are welcoming a new group for a fully online teacher training! . Will you be in the next class photo?... . Interested in becoming a yoga teacher? Join us for an online info session next weekend and learn more about the training this Fall! . For the first time ever, our mindfulness-based yoga training is going to be held online. We’re excited to bring these practices into your home, so you can learn from anywhere! . This training will include some recorded material that you can study at your own pace, and that you’ll have forever - including detailed breakdown videos for each pose.... But, the majority of the training will consist of live online meetings with the trainers and your fellow students. . It won’t be a huge group (it’s by application only), so you’ll actually be seen and heard here. Community and connection are some of the most important parts of a yoga teacher training. . We’d love to meet you on August 15th, and answer your questions! The info session is a great way to see if this program is a good fit for you, and to learn about our mindful, accessible approach to yoga. . Free to attend, but RSVP is required to get the Zoom link! DM us your email address to sign up, or visit our website to learn more. (Link in profile). See more

Meet @mzdejur We are thrilled to have De Jur as one of our expert guests at the @uprisingyoga Online training in September! . Aside from teaching countless mainstream classes, De Jur also teaches therapeutic, accessible yoga to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated adults with Prison Yoga Project and Prison Yoga+Meditation. She offers yoga therapy to populations in recovery, those unhoused, mentally ill seniors, those trying to leave the life of sex trafficking and foster youth. .
