Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) is a common condition associated with normal aging. It can often cause nerve pinching, called radiculopathy, which results in pain that shoots into the arms or legs. Our surgeons utilize minimally invasive approaches whenever possible and our pain specialists can perform specific injections by using live X-rays, called fluoroscopy. The PMR (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) physician performs a nerve conduction study/Electromyelography (NCS/EMG), a special diagnostic test to assess the severity of various types of nerve injuries, such as radiculopathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, brachial plexopathy, and peripheral neuropathy. These nerve conduction studies are often used to assess patients’ nerve injuries as well as assist with managing patients’ rehabilitation needs from stoke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, wheel chair and/or other assistive devices. #spineandpainoc #painmanagement #emg #orangecounty #knwoledgeispower
