We want to send a big thank you to our friends at Toshiba America Inc. for hosting a virtual donation drive that raised $10,449 for SPIN! Employees also sent holiday cards with gift cards included for SPIN families. Toshiba America has partnered with SPIN for many years, and we are so grateful for their generous donation. Thank you!

Thank you for adopting SPIN families for the holidays! Thanks to our generous friends, 49 families (including 109 children) received gifts and food to help make the holidays a little brighter. Thank you to everyone who gave!

It's #GivingTuesday and with your support, we can put more smiles on the faces of children and families in Orange County this holiday season. As a result of the pandemic, SPIN has served nearly double the number of families in 2020 as we did in 2019, from helping with housing to assisting with essentials like food and gas, and more. There are many ways you can help us reach even more families in need, whether donating, volunteering, or helping spread the word. Join in the #GivingTuesday global movement and help support SPIN and the families we serve today. https://www.spinoc.org/give

We are thankful for YOU! To all our clients, volunteers, and supporters, we are so grateful for you. And for all your contributions to helping families have a great Thanksgiving. Such as Laura Roche and Shana Spitzer, who organized a successful Thanks 4 Giving Canned Food Drive By to benefit SPIN’s families. And Laura Adams and Cherell Bailey from Ultimate Kronos Group adopted a family and provided a Thanksgiving dinner. These are just two examples of your incredible generosity in this season. Thank you!

This accolade includes a $200,000 grant and leadership training for our executive and emerging leaders, which will help us assist more families in securing and maintaining housing. For those who saw our last post, we are excited to share that we received another generous donation to help our recently house family furnish their new home. Special thanks to Leslie and Steve McNaughton for kindly donating this dresser and going above and beyond by delivering it to the family! They are incredibly grateful, and so is SPIN!

Help comes in all forms! Recently, several volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul’s Holy Family Cathedral helped transfer a donated dining table and chairs to one of SPIN's Rapid Rehousing clients in Orange. Due to the size of the table and 6 chairs, it took 3 volunteers and 2 pick-up trucks to get them to the family free of charge. SPIN is so grateful to Brigid and the volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul’s Holy Family Cathedral who swiftly responded to help. Now, the family now has a place where they can sit and enjoy meals together. Our client shared this photo of the table and chairs in their new home and said, Se ve hermoso muchisimas gracias. (It looks lovely, thank you so much.") But the work isn't done: We hope to help her locate more furnishings such as beds and dressers soon!

We want to once again give a big thanks to the 2019-20 7th-grade Ticktockers! Working through the National Charity League, their projects greatly assist SPIN's families, including donating school supplies, clothing, blankets, hygiene items, welcome baskets, and more, as well as providing babysitting, Thanksgiving dinners, Valentine's cards, Easter baskets, and hosting an annual picnic. We love their enthusiasm and dedication and are looking forward to another wonderful year working with the upcoming Ticktockers and their moms! Thank you, again, from all of us at SPIN!

Messages of Gratitude: Meet Jazmine and her family, who wanted to share this message with SPIN's supporters: "We were losing hope in finding a home and I believe God sent SPIN to help us. Not knowing what was ahead of us with the pandemic, we were right on time getting our new home. I remember my son, Josh, saying, 'Mom I feel like a million bucks.' He made me realize that we were beyond blessed. SPIN has helped us learn to manage our budget with grocery gift cards and gas g...ift cards. They have been a huge blessing. This pandemic has been rough on us. I lost my job, my children have been really overwhelmed, and since my oldest daughter suffers from mental illness, it is difficult for us to adjust to these changes. Regardless of our difficulties, we are learning to be strong and united. Recently, my husband was doing really well with work, but since the pandemic has been getting worse, he has lost work. We don't know what's going to happen but one thing we do know, we have the resources to be successful with SPIN. We are hoping that with SPIN's help not only our family can find support, but other families can too." See more
