Meet Marley! Marley is an adorable and sweet 2 year old mini poodle mix. He is on the bashful side when you first meet him, but once he's gotten to know you he will never leave your side. If Marley is the one for you please head over to our website and fill out an adoption appointment request form. Appointments are made in the order that requests are received.

Yesterday, SPCA Humane Officers were notified about four kittens who were found all alone on an empty lot at the corner of Speegle and Seymour Street in Castroville. The kittens were inside a bucket labeled "Free Kittens". At only 3 weeks old, the kittens should still be under the care of their mother. The kittens were thankfully found by a good samaritan who called the SPCA. It is unknown how long the kittens had been inside the bucket with no shelter, food, or mother to p...rovide for them. Thank goodness they were found! The kittens are now in the care of the SPCA and will go to loving foster homes where they will be bottle fed (they are too young to eat on their own) and raised until they are old enough for adoption. If you can no longer keep your pet for any reason, abandonment is never the answer. Please contact us and we will make an appointment to safely surrender your pet. Thanks to the support of our community, we are here for you.

Update: Poppy has many families lined up to meet her, so we aren't taking new applications for her now. We will have more puppies soon, and you can see all our other amazing adoptable pets at SPCAmc.org! Original Post: Oh my goodness gracious. Meet Poppy. ... Sweet Poppy is only 8 weeks old. This little german shepherd mix puppy came to us as part of an unwanted litter. She was raised in a loving SPCA foster home and is now all ready for her forever home. She needs a family who understands that she will quickly grow into a big, active, playful, and smart girl. She'll need a job and lots of exercise and training as she grows (and we offer great virtual and in-person training classes!). Adoptions are by appointment, taken in order received. Thank you for your love that makes all our rescues possible.
A big woof, purr, and thank you to Sherman's Apothecary Pharmacy and pharmacist Brian Rozema! Their Pumpkins 4 Paws event raised $12,000 to help animals rescued by your SPCA. They sold hundreds of Brian’s incredible homegrown pumpkins, plus sponsors offered a 2:1 matching donation. Wow! Thank you so much to Sherman's and everyone who purchased pumpkins. And a very special thanks to the sponsors: Animal Cancer Center, Salinas Valley Dental Care, TLC Dentistry, and From the Heart Dog Training.
