We've just launched a crowdfunding campaign to ask our community to help us get started. We've outlined the ways you can help below. If you plan to help, please take action early; the more momentum we get in the first 48 hours of our campaign, the much more likely we are to succeed. There are lots of ways you can help: 1) Make your gift today! We are appreciative of whatever you can give really, truly. Even if you can’t give right now, check out our campaign to lea...rn more about our project. 2) Email your support! Share this to your friends, with a note that you care about the project. We cannot thank you enough for your support on this journey, getting this powerful idea off the ground is a community effort! Thank you so much for helping make this dream a reality, https://power.sjsu.edu/spartansuperway

Go Spartan Superway!!!! "Traffic congestion in California has been risen beyond the state’s road capacity, but students from San Jose State University have been working on an urban transportation project that aims to change the future of sustainable traveling. The interdisciplinary project, Spartan Superway, has been in place at SJSU since 2012 and involved students from civil and mechanical engineering, computer science, industrial design and business."

A balanced urban transportation system offering avoids silver-bullet promises and tech hype. Something to think about. PRT definitely has a role in such a balanced approach. "Sorry to break it to you, but autonomous vehicles won’t rid the world of gridlock, according to new research."

Los Angeles is the most congested city in the world, followed by New York City and Moscow, which are tied for the second place spot. San Francisco is the fifth most congested. Atlanta and Miami also make the top 10 list.

Way to go Spartan Superway engineering students! "Even though big cities have rideshare programs, buses, and trains, we all know it can still be hard to get to your destination. Enter the Superway from the engineer students at San Jose University!"

A Seattle talk show illustrates the struggles and frustrations with traffic congestion in its downtown area. Trying to improve the flow of traffic down there by making more adjustment to the signals isn’t going to help anything, he added. We are putting a bunch of people down there. And the way we need to solve that is through maybe jetpacks? Or actually, quality mass transit.

A recent study entitled "Commute mode diversity and income inequality: an inter-urban analysis of 148 midsize US cities" suggests that racial and gender income inequality can be at least partly addressed by expanding transportation opportunities beyond the automobile Increasing rail capacity means more opportunities for people who do not have cars, says study co-author Chad Frederick, an assistant professor of sustainability studies and urban planning at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. Multimodal infrastructure enables more people to participate in a wider labor market.
